Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

It became known what Belousov talked about with Austin

The day before, the first conversation took place between Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Pentagon head Lloyd Austin. Officially, only dry statements appeared about the need to maintain a dialogue between the military of Russia and the United States, but we became interested in what was left behind the scenes. And here’s what we found out.

One of the topics of conversation was the recent incident with the American reconnaissance drone RQ-4 Global Hawk, which was conducting strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Crimea. On June 24, the drone unexpectedly left the patrol zone off the coast of Crimea, and before that it was met at high altitude by our MiG-31.

According to our information, the American spoke in a respectful manner and was careful in his wording. Belousov maintained the dialogue in a similar manner.

“The impression was that Austin was testing Belousov. Still, Andrei Removich is not a military man, but a civilian. Apparently, the Americans want to better understand what to expect from him,” a source familiar with the conversation told us.

Regarding the drone, Belousov emphasized that Crimea is the territory of the Russian Federation, which means the operation of US drones there is impossible. Austin responded that “provocations by some military personnel in the Russian Federation could lead to unwanted escalation.” And our sources paid special attention to this remark about “some military men.”

Off the record, one of our interlocutors suggested that in this way the head of the Pentagon provided an opportunity for direct dialogue with Belousov, deliberately separating him from the military. “It’s no secret that the Americans from time to time try to conduct an informal dialogue with some representatives of the top. We have many points of intersection,” our source said unequivocally.

He (fighterbomber) may be part of the regime’s propaganda unit, which intersperses fact, to provide credibility, with fiction, to buck up public sentiment.

Back in December, just before Christmas, FB made some posts that infuriated the pro-Russian OSINT and mil-blogger community, and probably the military. He reported on the multiple shootdowns of Russian fighters in the Kherson region, confirming that they were UKR kills vice friendly fire. Moreso, he reported specifically on the failure of Russia's vaunted “Khibiny” EW system. This info was almost certainly classified.

Since then, there has been a significant shift in the accuracy of his reports, with him toeing the MoD line very strictly. His credibility is not what it was previously, at least with me. He does have some of the best sources, but he lies - or is fed misinformation.

Coup underway in Bolivia, possibly overthrowing the pro-communist government of President Luis Arce. Bolivia is in the process of seeking membership in BRICS, and has close ties to Russia and China. No idea of what will happen if the coup succeeds.

From what I understand, the President is a far left socialist/leaning communist, and has the support of Russia and China. At this point it looks like the coup has failed.

While drone footage is obviously cherry-picked, with the duds never seeing the light of day, the ones where soldiers are helpless suggests some Russian grunts are issued insufficient ammo, have no concept of fire discipline (and ran out of bullets a while back) or aren’t being resupplied with ammo on a timely basis. If a small arms ammo gap exists between Ukraine and Russia that favors Ukraine, that may in part explain the casualty gap that seems to have opened up in Ukraine’s favor.

[The ethical debate over autonomous weapons continues among military experts, lawyers, and ethicists, as outlined in the report. Kuprienko repeats the official stance that a human commander must approve each attack. However, he concedes that some commanders might prefer full autonomy to maximize the swarm’s effectiveness, adding “We’re fighting a war here, and we want to win.”]

The issue is what the drones do when communications are cut off. The ideal end point would be an AI robust enough to take over target selection independently within enemy territory. As with live human operators deconfliction is a problem. What if a Ukrainian unit has advanced to a point previously known to be Russian-held, but where Ukrainian drone communications have been jammed, activating AI-driven autonomous target selection mode? Friendly fire could be a risk.

[ Eastern City Retaken! Ukrainian Marines Crush Russian Forces in Epic Counterattack! ]

Day 854: Jun 26

Today, there is a lot of news from the Kharkiv direction.

Intense clashes persist in the northern part of Vovchansk, with Ukrainian forces maintaining the initiative through ongoing counterattacks. In response, Russian forces are employing heavy shelling and air bombardments to counter these efforts.

Firstly, Ukrainian troops have continued to advance from their stronghold in the citadel area, pushing both northward and eastward. Recent footage confirms a significant deployment of Ukrainian FPV drones, with their attacks now reaching the northern outskirts of the city.

Russian forces have launched intense attacks on Ukrainian positions in the citadel area, primarily using thermobaric artillery instead of FABs. This choice is due to the proximity of Russian and Ukrainian positions in the city center and the risk of friendly fire associated with the less accurate FAB glide bombs.

The unique layout of the high-rise buildings in the citadel provides a defensive advantage, with some buildings acting as shields for others, offering exceptional protection to specific structures.

But the most significant recent Ukrainian advancements occurred in the eastern part of Vovchansk.

Geolocated images from the “Liut” Assault Brigade reveal clearing operations in the Stepova Street area, leading to the countryside east of Vovchansk. The intense pressure exerted by Ukrainian troops, coupled with the complete destruction of buildings and structures, rendered it untenable for Russian forces to maintain their positions.

Consequently, they were forced to retreat to trenches and fortifications in the fields at the end of Stepova Street. The footage shows Ukrainian soldiers advancing, clearing, and securing houses, sheds, and cellars.

The intensive use of assault rifles and grenades indicates the continued presence of some Russian troops. The advance was coordinated by a commander using a reconnaissance drone for observation. At one point, Ukrainian soldiers were alerted to two Russian soldiers seeking shelter in a nearby house. The Ukrainians took cover and immediately deployed two FPV drones, neutralizing the Russian soldiers.

Additionally, soldiers from the 36th Marine Brigade executed remarkable counterattack operations in the area. Recent geolocated images show an assault on the outskirts of Vovchansk, in the fields just beyond Stepova Street.

Following the successful operation by the “Liut” Brigade, which secured Stepova and adjacent streets, Ukrainian forces could safely operate in the fields without the threat of a Russian attack from the urban area.

The assault began with a drone-launched grenade attack, catching the Russian soldiers completely off guard and forcing them to seek cover. Simultaneously, Ukrainian marines rapidly advanced toward the fortifications and launched their assault. They systematically cleared the dugouts using grenades and assault rifle fire, all coordinated by a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.

The goal of the Ukrainian forces in this area is to advance northeast and link up with Ukrainian troops progressing from the Tykhe area to push out the Russian forces dominating the hill. A topographic map reveals two contiguous elevated areas between the eastern part of Vovchansk and the Tykhe settlement.

Securing these elevated positions is essential for any Ukrainian operation in the region. Without control of these heights, Russian forces would have a significant advantage, able to undermine any Ukrainian movement.

Once these positions are secured, Ukrainian forces could expand north and east, potentially encircling the inner city of Vovchansk and trapping the Russian forces in a pocket. Crucially, it is much easier for Ukrainian troops to build up and maneuver forces, including mechanized units, from the area south of Tykhe.

This route is preferable to moving through the urban center of Vovchansk, where there is a higher concentration of Russian forces and greater challenges in crossing the Vovcha River, especially for armored vehicles.

As if that weren’t enough, the 36th Marine Brigade followed their assault operation with a nighttime grenade drop attack on retreating Russian forces in a nearby position. This maneuver aimed to capitalize on the momentum of the Ukrainian advance and further weaken Russian defenses.

The ultimate goal is to dislodge Russian forces from the hills and secure control of the elevated positions. Footage shows Marine Brigade drone operators using night vision cameras to locate and attack Russian troops. Intercepted Russian radio conversations revealed the desperation of the soldiers, unable to find a safe moment to flee. The following day, new images captured the complete devastation inflicted on the Russian troops.

Overall, Ukrainian forces have made substantial advances in the eastern part of Vovchansk, deploying elite assault units to initiate the battle for control of the strategic high ground. Both sides recognize the critical importance of this area.

If the Ukrainians succeed in reclaiming these positions, they will be able to escalate operations within the city, potentially leading to the collapse of Russian positions in Vovchansk and, by extension, the end of the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region.

94 soldiers were killed in Crimea and Sevastopol

Between the beginning of May and June 23 of this year, 94 of our military personnel were killed in Crimea and Sevastopol as a result of missile strikes and enemy drone attacks.

This information was revealed to us by two sources in the Ministry of Defense. The data was not officially released. We think the reasons are clear to everyone.

Andrei Belousov, who, according to interlocutors, instructed not to advertise this terrible statistics, promised every time to “pray for everyone who fell on the day of the funeral.” And he did it. However, most of the funeral took place in secret.

It pains us to write about this. But against the backdrop of such losses and the virtual defenselessness of Crimea and Sevastopol, the Ministry of Defense, instead of doing something to improve the situation, continues the campaign against us.

Fake information about the channel is being sent out massively and obviously not for free (we are checking the amounts). Screenshots are published that were the result of hacking the profile of one of the admins. about this We wrote in detail last year, immediately after we repulsed that attack.

We appeal personally to the Minister of Defense and his associates. Stop this dirty campaign and please focus on saving the lives of our guys. To be honest, we wanted to demand an apology from you, but we won’t, it’s not that important. We simply urge you to direct the energy and money that is spent on the fight against Snuffbox in the right direction.
