Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

The fightings between Russian forces and Islamists in Dagestan, Russia, are ongoing. So far six members of Russian police and one the national guard have been killed. 12 more are wounded. The Islamists (possibly Islamic State) lost at least 4 combatants. 2 of the IS terrorists were allegedly sons of an official of the local administration.

Russian forces are now deploying armored vehicles.

What a mess.

Will Putin blame:

A. Ukraine?
B. NATO?
C. United States?
D. All the above?

Of course the answer is D.

Of course you are correct.

When was the last time you heard the term “Stag Bar”?

I guess that most officers today would be shocked to learn that back then there were ladies (and I use the term loosely) that would take off most of their clothes in the Stag Bar.

This evening, Ukrainian forces successfully struck the Russian NIP-16 space tracking and communication center in Vitino, Crimea with multiple MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles.

Multiple areas of the facility are burning.

As recently as the mid 90's, we had regular lunchtime "lingerie shows" at the CPO club. Those were the days.

And that may be one of the reasons the kirch has not been attacked recently
Get the Russians to bring in all kinds of gear to protect it and then hit them and then the bridge

Epic long range missile fire from tonight. The Russian bases in Crimea are having a very rough night.

Are you sure they are “tracking radar” antennas? They look like communications or ELINT arrayed antennas.

Very Strong EXPLOSIONS in Sevastopol were reported just 5 minutes ago.

Based on the original time of x.com post, the explosions occurred about 50 minutes ago.

Marcus...thanks for your original post on this!

Actually, I am not sure. I was confident if I was wrong, you or ETCM would correct me. I should have asked a question as to what these are.

i was waiting for this....

this is it....

the oldest (SP) and least wanted artillery of the war is now hitting the north front.

the early 2S1s are headed to the front!!!!

this is the last system they have in storage in any real number!!!

came out in 1973, no modern sights, no upgrades...

only a 15km range (within drone range)

vs a ukr 155 with 42km... (2s22)

its going to be a short life for them.

https://x.com/secretsqrl123/status/1804925329372287310

I wonder if Putin went to visit the Norks to beg for some 122 x 447mm .R separate loading, cased charged ammo.

No wonder putin is willing to negotiate.

“is feasible or practical to build patriot or nasam launchers in one or two missile configuration, say mounted in a truck to camouflage what they are?”

Yes, it is technically feasible to box them up, to look like regular shipping containers and mount them on regular trucks, but it would not be cheap or easy. This is being done with Intermediate Range (deep strike) Artillery weapons and cruise missiles (the Chinese do it too), but I have not heard of Air Defense missiles being configured like that yet.

This post raises an interesting point about the attrition of the old Soviet stocks.

“its going to be a short life for them.” (The old stuff)

As the quality declines, the rate of attrition likely speeds up, as they are increasingly over matched.

Like always this war is changing the art of war. The idea of small mobile long range air defense (offense) system most likely was never considered
Just like having a large capacity to produce artillery rounds, we use air power….

Drones have changed everything nuff said don’t need to beat a dead horse , but what the response will be, the counter and counter counter …. measures will be and who developed them first will be crucial
