Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russia has kept the SU-57 far from Ukraine...

Which shows that Russia knows the Su-57 is junk.

The Su-57 radar signature is not stealthy because Russia has not figured out how to launch missiles out of a weapons bay.

Even when (if) they figure out the internal weapons bay, it still has 1000 times the RCS of an F-35. The Sukhoi would never see the 5th Gen fighter that shoots it down, and it is vulnerable to modern air defense systems at 6x the distance of a true stealth fighter.

I was a bit skeptical WRT 1000 times the RCS of an F-35 until I found this picture of an Su-57 wing:

❗️🇺🇸 Colonel Clemente, Assistant Chief of Staff for 10th AAMDC, confirms a Ukrainian PATRIOT fire unit was responsible for engaging and destroying a Russian A-50U AEW&C aircraft in January 2024. This refutes Russian claims the A-50U was lost in a friendly fire incident.

So, the truth finally comes out...the ruzzian A-50 was shot down by a Patriot missile.

French-supplied Mirage 2000-5s supplied to Ukraine will reportedly be modified to carry French/British SCALP/Storm Shadow air launched cruise missiles.

French manufacturer Dassault Aviation intends to carry out the modifications, per the French outlet La Tribune.

https://x.com/Osinttechnical/status/1799854834608193633

According to an unreliable source, the Mirage 2000-5 can carry 1 SCALP-EG, most likely on the centerline station.

This modification may involve wiring the inboard stations so 2 SCALP-EGs can be carried simultaneously.

The Colonel confirms this was actually a tactic they were trained on by Germany, called a “Sambush”, a portmanteau of SAM and ambush.

The Colonel confirms

“They have probably a #PATRIOT Bn [worth] ... Some of this is being used to protect static sites ... others are being moved around and doing some really historic things ... One of them is a #SAMbush ... stretching the very edges ... to engage the first A-50 system back in Jan” (🎥US Army)

When admitting to shooting down the A50 over the Sea of Azov, seems like also admitting they used a SkyCeptor (PAAC-4) missile, which has a aerial range of 110 miles, & would be about right distance from UKR lines, unless the system was mounted on a barge or ship.

What do you think?

[ Russian in Shock. Foreign Fighters Launch Counterattacks in Chasiv Yar ]

Day 837: Jun 09

Today, there are a lot of updates from the Bakhmut direction.

The most interesting updates come from the area of Chasiv Yar.

Here, Ukrainians repelled a series of Russian assaults thanks to the prior efforts of special operations forces like the Kraken Regiment. Following this, they immediately utilized fighters from the International Legion resulting in a series of successful counterattacks.

The International Legion comprises former soldiers from Western countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as many volunteers from other NATO armies.

Many of these fighters bring extensive combat experience from various global conflicts, blending advanced combat skills and tactical knowledge.

This expertise is invaluable in dynamic frontline areas like Chasiv Yar. The diverse array of skills and experiences makes the International Legion one of the most effective units in the Ukrainian army.

Furthermore, foreign fighters bring extensive knowledge of specialized skills such as close-quarters combat, reconnaissance, sabotage, covert missions, and special operations. These unique capabilities complement the existing strengths of Ukrainian forces, providing them with a significant advantage over the Russians.

Additionally, foreign fighters have access to advanced equipment and supplies, including aid from the US, which they can utilize effectively thanks to their expertise and training.

Meanwhile, Russian units in the area are at a disadvantage against these highly skilled and well-equipped foreign fighters.

Most Russian detachments in this area consist of poorly trained mobilized personnel or convicts. These troops lack previous combat experience and are generally unfamiliar with their combat tasks.

Low-quality units, such as the Storm-Z detachments, are used to wear down Ukrainian defenses ahead of assaults by regular airborne units.

In one such video, a Russian soldier is seen striking his rifle with an axe while a loaded magazine is attached. The soldier is completely unaware of how to aim properly and ends up damaging the rifle, rendering it incapable of accurate shooting.

This incident highlights the severe lack of training and situational awareness among Russian stormtroopers.

In recently published combat footage shared by fighters of the Ukrainian Foreign Legion, operations on the northern outskirts of the town’s Kanal district are depicted. The video shows a small squad of four foreign fighters disembarking from an armored vehicle, fully equipped, and advancing to assault their target.

Afterward, they find cover near the rubble of surrounding buildings and locate a hideout with entrenched Russian soldiers in one of the houses on the outskirts.

One of the fighters uses an AT-4 rocket launcher to fire at the house, immediately following up with dense small-arms fire to suppress the Russian forces.

Meanwhile, the other fighters carefully advance toward the house. Upon reaching it, they further suppress the Russians on the upper floor with small-arms fire before ensuring their elimination with hand grenades.

After securing the house, the foreign fighters move forward, coordinating with each other to conduct the operation carefully. They discover another Russian firing position, which they neutralize with hand grenades.

At the end of the operation, only one Russian soldier fires back at them from the last house they cleared, but he is swiftly eliminated with hand grenades and small-arms fire.

Ultimately, the foreign fighters successfully cleared and secured positions on the northern outskirts of Chasiv Yar.

The Foreign Legion’s key advantage lies in their proficiency in communication and coordination at the small unit level. NATO armies prioritize the autonomy of small units, a principle that former troops, now foreign fighters, are accustomed to. Consequently, they seamlessly apply their warfare tactics to their assaults.

On the contrary, Russian units frequently suffer from coordination deficiencies, resulting in significant failures.

In a notable incident captured on video, a Russian armored transport, the MT-LB, inadvertently abandoned an infantry squad during a Ukrainian counterattack. This lapse in communication and coordination led to the vehicle unintentionally running over some Russian troops.

In conclusion, the expertise and coordination of elite units like the International Legion and the Kraken Regiment are crucial in providing battlefield advantages.

In pivotal areas like Chasiv Yar, Ukrainian forces strategically deploy the International Legion, comprised of seasoned foreign fighters, alongside the formidable Kraken Regiment.

These units provide a substantial advantage over Russian forces, which often lack training and coordination. The superior expertise and proficiency of Ukrainian units plays a pivotal role in holding off overwhelming force of 80,000 Russian soldiers by just around 15,000 Ukrainian fighters.

Russian channel ASTRA confirms the info reported by the Ukrainian General Staff.

--

During an overnight missile attack on Crimea on June 10, two S-300 complexes and four radars were damaged.

The attack involved at least 10 ATACMS missiles, none of which were intercepted.

The strikes targeted locations of the 31st Air Defense Division of the Russian Defense Ministry, resulting in one serviceman killed and six wounded.

Specifically, four missiles hit the Dzankoyskiy rayon, damaging two radar stations and injuring one serviceman.

Another four missiles struck the Sakskiy rayon, damaging military equipment and wounding another serviceman.

Two additional missiles hit the Chornomorske district near Hromovka, damaging two radars and two S-300 complexes, killing one serviceman, and wounding four others.

The AFU General Staff reported successful strikes on an S-400 anti-aircraft missile division near Dzhankoy, and two S-300 divisions near Chernomorskoye and Yevpatoria.

Destroy all ruzzian long range SAMs in Crimea and Ukraine will have a safe launch zone for their SU-24M aircraft to attack the Kerch bridge with Scalp missiles.

Russian air defense soldiers have been ordered to evacuate their families from Crimea to the Russian Southern Military District - Atesh military movement reports.

According to their information, air defense systems are also moved from Crimea to Belgorod region of Russia.

Below is a picture of the ZU 23-2. Very effective against low flying aircraft. Not effective against SU-24M flying above 20,000 feet. Also not effective against Stormshadow/Scalp missiles.

If S-300s & S-400s can't shoot down ATACMs or Stormshadows, why keep them in Crimea?

Put them in Belgorod where ATACMs are prohibited from attacking.

Kremlin snuff box, 06/10/24
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

The oligarchs are unhappy with what is happening

A number of large businessmen do not hide their dissatisfaction with the situation with seized Russian assets in the West. As is known, the Presidents of the United States and France agreed to the possibility of transferring proceeds from seized assets to Ukraine.

Now Macron and Biden will talk about this at the upcoming G7 summit in Italy, trying to convince Germany of this first of all. To make such a decision, the consent of all EU countries is required, since most of the assets are located in Europe.

Here, the controversial behavior of Hungarian Prime Minister Orban plays into our hands. Budapest is strongly advocating for an end to the transfer of arms and finance to Ukraine.

Nevertheless, Russian business circles are not delighted with this turn of events .

“Now they are transferring profits over assets. And then they will take away the assets themselves,” complains a large businessman who is among the TOP 50 rich people in our country.

Some bolder people address their dissatisfaction not only with the West, but also with our authorities.

“They promised to protect. They didn’t protect. So what now?” - asks another large businessman.

Billionaires do not hide the fact that they encountered difficulties in doing business after the start of the SVO, and, alas, not everyone managed to adapt. This leads to big losses.
