Because he understands geo-economics. That a powerful Russia means a powerful BRICs alliance. This means they topple the US dollar as the world premier reserve currency. Numpties here, it never enters their minds, that if the US dollar gets toppled by 33%, that the US standard of living (Tucker Qatarlson’s & theirs) goes down by (guessing) 20%.
A counter example is MBS/Saudi Arabia allying themselves with us ever since Trump got back into office. This is an anti-BRICs move that helps the US dollar. This alliance also means the Saudi will be selling its oil in US dollars. Not in Yuan Renminbi.
A strong and effective US military keeps the USD strong. Sending Ukraine Tomahawks the same, by projecting US power and diminishing Putin’s status and power each time they score a nice hit in Russia. Of course, it seems we have not sent them yet, due to Trump’s proposed peace deals.
