President Trump is probably negotiating in public with his Tomahawk remarks, as he often does.

Getting the best price and terms from Ukraine and their other supporters - not giving away the Tomahawks cheaply. They are precious and limited.

But they still loom over Putin’s head, if he crosses Trump.

Discussions tomorrow with president Zelensky, and next week with putin, will likely determine how many Tomahawks Ukraine might get.

As you note, Ukraine is doing a significant job on Russia with their existing drones, and other capabilities (like Flamingoes) are expected. Maybe some unexpected new capabilities as well.

What Russian Air Defense doink? Shooting down their own planes again.

Kyiv Independent (17 Oct):

“Russia shot down its own military aircraft over Crimea while its air defense was trying to intercept Ukrainian drones flying to the occupied peninsula and deep inside Russia overnight, Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, said on Oct. 17…

…The Ukrainian drone attack appears to have hit a facility near the Gvardeyskoye airbase in Crimea, and the footages appear to show the oil depot nearby on fire, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported…

…In Russia, cities including Sochi, about 400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, were under attack.”

Aircraft loss is propaganda or technical failure.

Gas rationing is to fight climate change

Russian Losses of land around pokrovsk are strategic realignment for coming glorious winter campaign

Russian Intelligence has no doubt been watching President Trump coordinate oil supply increases, and preparations to cut off Russian exports, since his election (even before inauguration). Every month, Russia tries unsuccessfully to prevent OPEC+ from raising its production quotas again. The math of Bone-Crushing secondary sanctions on buyers of Russian oil, is inescapable to serious analysts.

Now the trap is set, after long, careful and determined preparation. Russian analysts must know, but can they tell the boss, and are his personal interests aligned with those of Russia as a whole? Will Putin take down Russia with him?

OilPrice.com (17 Oct):

Indian Refiners Pivot to Guyanese Oil

U.S. Expects Japan to Suspend Russian Oil

“Two Indian refiners have bought cargoes totaling 4 million barrels of Guyanese crude, Reuters has reported, citing unnamed trade sources who also said the oil will be delivered by the end of this year or the start of 2026.

Each of the refiners—Indian Oil Corp. and Hindustan Petroleum—has bought a cargo of 2 million barrels from the (Guyanese) Stabroek Block…

…The news report comes after Reuters earlier this week wrote that some Indian refiners were moving away from Russian crude under pressure from the White House. Once again citing unnamed sources, the publication said some refiners on the subcontinent were preparing to start curbing their purchases of Russian crude from December onwards, after already placing orders for deliveries next month.”

This protects India from supply disruption, if a flock of flamingoes were to suddenly impede Russia’s ability to deliver. President Trump gave them enough time to prepare - that’s what friends do.

Budapest will host Trump, Putin and and Orban, together, at a Peace conference.

You can bet every globalist assassin will be drooling.

This is who they are, and they are who the three remaining members of this Thread support.

>> "Trump may have the Trump card, but if the Secret Service lets him go to a meeting in Putin buddy Orban’s Hungary, then they are not doing their job. I think it is going to be a race between how fast it takes Trump to realize that Putin is still stalling as deal negotiations drone along, versus how soon King Winter does its job in Russia. I am right now listening to news reports about Trump’s talk with Putin. At the same time they are describing the latest attacks by Putin on Ukraine cities. I’m sure Trump will be watching carefully to see if all these attacks were in process before or after his talk today with Putin.

It has been amazing to see that two of the usuals in subsequent comments were upset that I thought our Secret Service should be concerned about taking our President to a country where the ruler is a Putin friend. If our popular president can’t even be safe in PA, why would Hungary be an improvement? Of course, there is the possibility our President would be safer, because such a dastardly act would probably end up with the immediate approval of sending Tomahawk missiles to Europe. On the other hand, such an act could be accomplished with the Putin secret service making it look like it was done by Ukraine. I am sorry to have developed so much cynicism as a result of following this war.

Another complaint was about statements I made that suggested some people who have commented at this thread in the past might take a temporary interest in other topics. Also suggesting I should go away as well. Really dumb logic, like we can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. ??????

Putin is certainly feeling this increased oil/gasoline supply pressure. He is desperate to increase the number of troops on his front lines in Ukraine, even importing N. Koreans and Cubans to help. His next move is to have Parliament approve his decision to activate more of the ready reserve for ongoing military action. A partial mobilization is preferred as more aggressive mobilization caused about 1 million young Russian men to flee the country. It will also be cheaper to pay these reservists than large signing bonuses for new “meat.”

Once the amendments are approved, the Kremlin will likely conduct a rolling partial mobilization without formally declaring war or formally announcing a partial involuntary call up, it has been suggested.

Putin will also be able deploy the reservists outside Russian territory, including to Ukraine’s Sumy and Kharkiv regions, said Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the Defense Committee.

Russia has been augmenting its forces in Ukraine by using foreign fighters from North Korea and has used recruitment ads on social media to recruit people in desperate need of money from Cuba. More specific details and sources below:

Nope granny, you are specifically picking out FReepers that don't dance to your fanatical, obsessive Ukie tune and YOU posted this (in your own words)

"What a shame some people are so fixated on Putin and his war in Ukraine, they cannot imagine some people might occasionally take an interest in some other topic of concern for our country’s wellbeing and development."

Instead of admitting to your hypocrisy, you go and boo-hoo to other zeepers.
Who are you to yap, whine & complain about FReepers mentioning "Putin" while you and the rest of the basement gang does it on a daily basis?
Btw, let's talk about concern for our 🇺🇸 country’s 🇺🇸 wellbeing and development.

Here is what your concern was;

In our own country, yesterday it was reported that US immigrants have been paying almost $100 billion in income taxes each year. Now economists expressed concerns that fear of ICE enforcement may cause many worried immigrants to no longer pay these taxes since confidentiality of IRS records is no longer reliable. In other words an amount equal to our Ukraine assistance budget may dry up."

No it didn't, and this is the 4th time recently that you are blaming your Chromebook for your own mistake. Father Time wins these battles with all of us, but maybe a new pair of glasses would help?
