Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Atta Boy!

“100+ Russian soldiers blown to pieces by ATACMS missile strike - Newsweek on the recent Ukrainian army attack on a Russian military training ground in Russian occupied Luhansk region.

Analysts from the ISW and OSINT projects concluded that the attack took place near the village of Mozhniakivka, 80 kilometers behind the front line. One of the three fired US ATACMS missiles hit a group of soldiers directly, hitting them with hundreds of cluster bombs.”

“Russia’s Economy on Course to Hit Historic Low”

“The Russian economy’s share of global gross domestic product is expected to decline over President Vladimir Putin’s fifth presidential term to reach its lowest level since the end of the Soviet Union, the latest figures from the International Monetary Fund show.

Russia’s economy has shown resilience in the face of Western-led sanctions imposed after Putin began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which sought to isolate Moscow from the global financial system and cut its funding for the war.

In April, the IMF upgraded its forecast for Russia’s economic growth to 3.2 percent in 2024—almost triple the 1.1 percent growth it had predicted in October 2023. The updated figure, which is higher than the GDP growth forecast for the U.S. and many other Western countries, raised questions about the effectiveness of sanctions.

However, other IMF data shows that while Russia’s economy is expected to grow, it may not increase as much as other countries’.

New IMF figures predict Russia’s share of global GDP will shrink between now and 2029. The country’s GDP share is expected to increase slightly in 2024 to 2.948 percent, up from 2.947 percent in 2023. But from then until the end of the decade, Russia’s share of the global economy is set to gradually decrease.

In 2025, according to the IMF data, Russia’s share of global GDP will begin to shrink, falling to 2.908 percent. In 2026, its GDP share is expected to be 2.855 percent, and then 2.803 and 2.754 percent in the following two years. In 2029, the year before Putin’s presidential term expires, Russia’s share of global GDP is expected to drop to 2.706 percent.

The forecast figure is less than the previous low of 2.83 percent, recorded in 1998—the year Russia, under President Boris Yeltsin, defaulted on its debt and sparked a financial crisis. Newsweek has contacted the Russian Financial Ministry for comment via email.”

“I’m surprised it’s Macron sounding the alarm.”

Reportedly, Hawkish talk against Russia and support of Ukraine are helping him domestically, in the run up to European Parliament elections in June.

Kremlin snuff box, 04/02/24
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

We are advancing at the front. What will happen next?

In light of the successful advance of our army at the front, we decided to talk with the military and sources in the Kremlin about how they see further developments. We learned several important things.

First of all, we are really making a successful offensive. Glory to the Russian army! We inflict serious losses on the enemy and move forward.

True, we ourselves also suffer heavy losses (often several hundred people a day), but without this, unfortunately, there are no offensives. Many of our interlocutors say that now there is a serious chance to at least liberate the entire DPR .

Secondly, we asked the military how realistic were the hopes that we would advance at the front for at least a few more months. Most sources (including the Ministry of Defense) are confident that there will be progress. But at the same time, almost everyone shares the opinion of Valery Gerasimov that the fighting will drag on for several more years.

Therefore, the offensive may not yet be as large-scale as we would like. The Americans and their allies will begin to supply weapons to the enemy more intensively, the Kiev regime will increase mobilization, and all this, of course, is bad for us. All the more valuable is the current heroic advance of the Russian army.

Thirdly, we wrote that Sergei Shoigu promised Vladimir Putin new offensives - in the direction of Kharkov and Sumy. About a third of our interlocutors believe in the success of such actions.

The rest are skeptical about the Minister of Defense’s promises and hope that we will focus on more promising sectors of the front.

“For Sumy we will have to sacrifice 50-60 thousand people, for Kharkov - it’s generally scary to say. Why do we need such losses in the offensive with a result that, to put it mildly, is difficult to guarantee?”, asks a general close to Gerasimov.

Fourthly, much at the front depends on a new large-scale mobilization. But here everything is complicated. Everyone says that it will happen, but when and how - no one can say.

Most of our interlocutors expect mobilization in the summer. Some call the date the end of May. And some note that there are now problems with mobilization due to the decline in the President’s confidence in Shoigu.

It’s hard to say what it will actually be like. Therefore, for now we should just rejoice at our successes at the front.

We are advancing at the front. What will happen next?

It's going to be a long hard summer. Russia is going to continue to advance. Barring a collapse, Ukraine will continue to trade territory for Russian corpses and destroyed armor. Zelensky's failure to listen to Zaluzhnyi's pleas to draft more men last year will continue to plague UAF for several more months. And what army only drafts men over 27 (now lowered to 25)? There's also the question of Europe's deeds matching their words.

“Russian troops have now entered a base in Niger that is housing U.S. troops”

The series of Russian-backed coups taking over France’s former colonies in French speaking West Africa should be riling up Macron against Russia.

Money from mineral extraction there has long greased the French political establishment.

“Moldova eyes energy lever to topple Kremlin puppet regime in Transnistria”

Maybe that will be the first territory that Russia loses from this war. If Putin can’t or won’t stop the bleeding, Russia could end up losing a lot more.

Free Chechnya!

Also Tatarstan, Bashkortstan, Bilhorod, Manchuria and Karelia!

Belarus too!

Free Russia!

I have maintained for sometime that Ukraine does not have the power to regain any significant territory as long as current Russian tactics of unlimited losses of manpower and equipment and current power structure is maintained.

And that is the big question, can they and will it?

Much has been made of Russias huge advantage in manpower and equipment which has allowed this advance at any cost to happen, but as much of a minority I may be, I don’t see this approach being able to be maintained.

Russia has had an advantage in most everything for the past 6-7 months, and what have the gained esp compared to what they have lost.

I see cracks forming not only in the military, but also in the political and economic side.

Of course nothing is certain, but already approved military aid is having effects both on the frontlines and in the political realm.

Things happen slow…..

Also because of the SMO, Russia has a shortage of workers and of skilled workers - so it has been importing workers to make up for the shortage, but those workers are either sent to the front immediately, or are sent as part of their migration compact.

lose lose scenario.

Send every plane that will fly.

“NEW: US has “surged” ATACMS production, no longer concerned about sending missiles to Ukraine, Army acquisition chief Doug Bush said today.

“A significant number of missiles that were ordered years ago … is now hitting at just the right time.””

/////

“The production lines making the Army Tactical Missile System are cranking out enough of the long-range missiles that the Pentagon is no longer worried about depleting its own stocks by sending them to Ukraine.

The update on the production came from Army acquisition chief Doug Bush on Thursday, who said that “a significant number of missiles that were ordered years ago … is now hitting at just the right time to be able to support how we’re supporting Ukraine without taking a hit to readiness.””
