Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Prigozhin’s supporters are going to take to the streets shortly before the elections

This was reported to us by two sources who were members of Evgeniy Viktorovich’s close circle. According to one of them, the planned street actions will have two goals.

“Firstly, remind everyone of what Yevgeny Viktorovich did for Russia. Remind him of what prospects he had in politics. When is the best time to do this, if not before the elections?

Secondly, we want to draw attention to the fact that the murder of Yevgeny Viktorovich and our other comrades has still not been solved and is not even being properly investigated,” said one of the interlocutors.

He understands that “the Russian authorities now treat Wagner PMCs poorly.” But he hopes that “everyone will be smart enough not to interfere with us remembering Evgeniy Viktorovich.”

As part of their actions, the “Wagnerites” are going to hold several “street events” in Moscow, St. Petersburg and a number of other large cities in the country. And also organize new street memorials in memory of Yevgeny Prigozhin, Dmitry Utkin and his other fallen comrades.

They promised to inform us about the dates of the promotions later. They will tentatively take place around March 9-10, but this information will still be clarified.

Putin was convinced to abandon demobilization. The Kremlin announced two new dates and told what will happen next

Vladimir Putin will almost certainly not announce partial demobilization in his address to the Federal Assembly on February 29. Sergei Shoigu convinced him not to do this.

As we wrote, the President discussed the issue of demobilization with the Minister of Defense. The conversation, the fact of which was not made public, took place on the evening of Tuesday, February 27.

“It seems Shoigu has found arguments. Vladimir Vladimirovich refused to carry out demobilization in the near future. He can still change his decision and announce demobilization on February 29 ( as planned - ed. ), but the chances of this, unfortunately, have seriously decreased,” said a high-ranking source in the Kremlin.

Another interlocutor, who is involved in Putin’s election campaign, is disappointed and angry with Shoigu. “In the Presidential election campaign, demobilization was supposed to be one of the brightest moments. And they practically ripped it off for us,” he complained.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed this information. “We are glad that Vladimir Vladimirovich heard Sergei Kuzhugetovich and will not announce any demobilization now. The situation at the front does not allow this,” a source close to Shoigu told us.

What will happen next? Our interlocutors say that Putin may still announce demobilization in his address to the Federal Assembly. But the likelihood of this is low.

“There are two more scenarios. The first is that Vladimir Vladimirovich will still decide to demobilize before the elections. Then it will be announced around March 10th.

The second scenario is that the President will begin demobilization after a new wave of mobilization is announced. That is, part of the military who were mobilized in 2022 will find themselves at home somewhere at the end of May or June,” a knowledgeable source in the AP told us.

Both of these dates are still at the level of speculation. We will let you know when any decisions are made. Now the demobilization process has actually stopped.

UK intel: Two A-50 AWACS aircraft downed in two months show Russia’s difficulty securing air assets
As Russia had lost its second A-50 AWACS aircraft, it can replace it with seven other airframes, but the loss of specialist crews in quick succession will further strain those remaining and force consideration of new operating areas, per UK intelligence. 27/02/2024

The Russian Air Force reportedly used their latest Su-57 fighter jets in recent combat operations, targeting Ukrainian military positions in the East of Ukraine.

On February 18, escorted by two Su-35 jets, the Su-57 launched a missile strike on Ukrainian targets. Sources suggest that the aircraft utilized the advanced Kh-69 stealthy cruise missile, specifically designed for the Su-57 platform.

Operating from the occupied territory of the Luhansk region, the Su-57 entered Ukrainian airspace under escort and launched the missile. Despite a technical malfunction, the missile missed its target and crashed in a field.

Bottom line...the Su-57 is a farce.

A very expensive & worthless aircraft.

“Bottom line...the Su-57 is a farce. A very expensive & worthless aircraft.”

Let’s have them shot down anyway, so they aren’t used to bully much weaker neighbors.

Besides, Russia needs a significant emotional experience to deter them from aggression. Their nose must be rubbed in it, so that they lose their taste for blood.

It is a good sign that the Su- 24s and Su-25s are gone, and they are starting to dig into their last line of defense, their Su-57s.

Send more Air Defense Artillery!

“Cluster shells for sure from US stocks in South Korea.”

Perhaps with as many as three million artillery shells out of North Korean inventories shipped to Russia for destruction, South Korea can recalculate its reserve requirements.

Anyway, it is really good to hear that aid is flowing, thanks.

Kyiv Independent reports:

“The leaders of Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, and Ukraine signed a joint declaration in support of Kyiv while denouncing Russian aggression during a summit in Tirana on Feb. 28.”

Serbia.

Putin did that.

“The signatories pledged unwavering support to Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity, and lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter and Ukraine’s peace formula. They also signaled readiness to participate in the upcoming international peace summit in Switzerland...

...The parties denounced Russia’s plans to hold a presidential election in the occupied territories of Ukraine. They also pledged to help bring perpetrators of Russian war crimes to justice and to bring abducted Ukrainian children home.

The leaders agreed to intensify cooperation in the information and cybersecurity sphere, help Ukraine’s post-war recovery efforts, and support Kyiv’s EU and NATO bids, as well as European aspirations of Moldova, Georgia, and Western Balkan countries.”

Send more Artillery!

Kyiv Independent reports:

“Belgium will allocate 200 million euros ($216 million) to the Czech-led initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine from outside the EU, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said on Feb. 28.

As Ukraine faces critical ammunition shortages due to delays in U.S. aid, Czech President Pavel said that Prague identified 800,000 artillery shells abroad that could be sent to Ukraine if allies secure financing.

The overall cost of the purchase is estimated at $1.5 billion, the Financial Times reported...

...The Netherlands has pledged 100 million euros ($108.3 million) to the initiative. Other countries, including Canada and France, also publicly supported the plan.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Feb. 26 that 15 European countries had signaled support already.”

Stepping closer to seizing Russia’s frozen assets for good. They wanted to save them as bargaining chips in peace negotiations, or to pay for rebuilding Ukraine, but now the trend seems to be going toward just taking the money to buy things to kill Russians. Putin funded that.

Kyiv Independent reports:

“European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen urged members of the European Parliament “to start a conversation about using the windfall profits of frozen Russian assets to jointly purchase military equipment for Ukraine...

...Debates over the legality of channeling these funds into Ukraine’s reconstruction have prevented allies from transferring the money, but ongoing delays in U.S. military aid have prompted heightened urgency...

...Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen also said that unblocking frozen Russian Central Bank assets and diverting those funds to aid Ukraine is “necessary and urgent.”

The European Union on Feb. 12 announced a new set of measures targeting profits from frozen assets belonging to the Russian Central Bank.”

Putin is mafia, first and foremost.

Kyiv Post:

Only One Way to Stop Putin – Navalnaya to European Parliament

“The widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny said that to defeat Putin you have to stop pretending that he’s a politician and recognize that he’s a crime boss...

...You can’t defeat him by thinking he’s a man of principle who has morals and rules. And Alexei realized that a long time ago. You are not dealing with a politician, but with a bloody monster. Putin is a leader of an organized criminal gang. This includes poisoners and assassins but they’re just puppets. The most important thing is the people close to Putin — his friends, associates and keepers of mafia money.”

Navalnaya said that the West has to understand that it is not going up against a country or a politician, but rather a criminal organization.

To combat Putin, the same methods used to combat organized crime must be employed, she said.

“No diplomatic notes, but investigations into the financial machinations. Not statements of concern, but a search for mafia associates in your countries, for the discreet lawyers and financiers who are helping Putin and his friends to hide money.””
