Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

The Guardian (UK) reports:

“Ken Buck, (a Republican) who left Congress last month, told CNN:

My experience with Marjorie is people have talked to her about not filing articles of impeachment on President Biden before he was sworn into office, not filing articles of impeachment that were groundless based on other individuals in the Biden administration. She was never moved by that. She was always focused on her social media account. And ‘Moscow Marjorie’ is focused now on this Ukraine issue and getting her talking points from the Kremlin and making sure she is popular and she is getting a lot of coverage.”

Its crunch time for Ukraine Aid.

The Guardian (UK, Left Wing) reports:

“Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene escalated her threat to oust Mike Johnson, issuing a searing indictment of the House speaker in a letter explaining her decision to file a motion to oust him.

In the five-page memo sent to her Republican colleagues on Tuesday morning (9 April), Greene laid out a detailed case against the speaker, accusing Johnson of failing to deliver on promises he ran on and breaking legislative procedural rules...

...Greene has not said if or when she plans to force a floor vote on Johnson’s removal, calling it a “warning” and noting it would be a “rolling issue”, but the letter marks her first direct pitch to her GOP colleagues to join her push to oust the speaker.

If the Baltic Sea countries don’t have this already, they should be next.

OilPrice.com reports:

North Sea Nations Forge Underwater Energy Security Pact Amid Sabotage Concerns
By Julianne Geiger, Apr 09

In a landmark move aimed at fortifying critical energy infrastructure, six northern European countries bordering the North Sea have signed an agreement today to enhance protection measures for underwater assets, including gas pipelines and electricity cables. The accord comes in response to the 2022 explosions targeting the Nord Stream gas pipelines, incidents that were classified as acts of sabotage but remain unsolved.

Denmark, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Norway, and the Netherlands are the signatories to this pivotal agreement, which underscores the shared commitment to safeguarding vital energy transit routes in the region. The North Sea, with its extensive network of pipelines and cables, plays a crucial role in supplying energy to Europe, particularly in terms of oil and gas resources—and in the future, renewable energy resources as well.

Speaking on the significance of the agreement, Denmark’s Climate, Energy & Utilities Minister Lars Aagaard remarked, “The North Sea has the potential to become the cradle of a renewable and secure energy supply in Europe, while supporting the road to a fossil-free future.” Aagaard’s sentiment echoes the broader vision of transitioning towards sustainable energy sources while ensuring the security and resilience of existing infrastructure.

Key provisions of the agreement include a comprehensive review of current protection and resilience measures, as well as the establishment of mechanisms for sharing crucial information among participating nations.”

As I’ve said, Biden can sell arms to Ukraine. Congress has never successfully over ridden an arms sale.

“US announces $138 million in sales to bolster Ukraine’s HAWK air defense system”

“The U.S. State Department announced Tuesday that it has approved a potential emergency $138 million in foreign military sales to Ukraine for repairs to its HAWK missile systems.

“Ukraine has an urgent need to increase its capabilities to defend against Russian missile strikes and the aerial capabilities of Russian forces. Maintaining and sustaining the HAWK missile system will enhance Ukraine’s ability to defend its people and protect critical national infrastructure,” the State Department said in a release announcing the sale.”

...

“The State Department said the funding for the HAWK system is in the best interest of the U.S., so it waived the “congressional review requirements” under the Arms Export Control Act. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the necessary notice to Congress of the possible sale on Tuesday.”

“As I’ve said, Biden can sell arms to Ukraine”

I often think that Poland’s massive arms purchases could be a Strategic reserve a couple of years from now, if needed. They are keeping the factories humming, and getting the gear built, so it will be on hand if the West needs to buy a bunch in a hurry, for the then current front line against Russia.

If only the USA, Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Japan and South Korea would match Poland’s example, deterrence would take care of itself.

Air defense shot down our Mi-24 helicopter over Crimea. Pilots are already threatening revenge

In the airspace of Crimea, contact with our Mi-24 was lost. According to our information, the helicopter was shot down by Russian air defense. Unfortunately, this is not the first case of friendly fire on our air targets.

There was a lot of talk among pilots about the increased risks when the Ukrainian Armed Forces brought their modern air defense systems to the battle line and shot down a large number of aircraft in a short period of time. But, when the enemy is helped, including by their own air defense officers, this is already beyond the bounds.

This time a helicopter was shot down. Unfortunately, the crew had no chance to survive.

In specialized public pages and closed chats, they are already discussing a scenario in which air defense crews could become a target of Russian aviation. In the third year of SVO, everyone’s nerves are on edge. We wouldn’t want our aviation in Crimea to start bombing their own air defense installations!

The other day the President listened to a report from the commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces. For now, Colonel General Viktor Afzalov was left at his post. But it seems that it’s time to change something. And it’s long overdue.

The enemy TsIPsO’s statements about the loss of the Ka-27 are nothing more than fakes. We know for sure - they hit our Mi-24. Now the Ministry of Defense is thinking about the version that the helicopter was shot down by Ukrainian air defense. But who will believe such nonsense?

More flood news

Kremlin snuff box
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

Looters have already killed 14 people in Orsk. The number of flood victims exceeded 100

Unfortunately, our calls to combat looting in the natural disaster zone in Orsk . no one heeded

As of the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 14 people , including three children and five pensioners, became victims of looters who rob flooded houses. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kolokoltsev, does not take action and, in our opinion, should resign from his post!

The total number of flood victims, according to sources in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, has reached 109 people. A number of bodies cannot yet be recovered due to water.

More than 30 more people are considered missing.

Confirmed loss.

“A Russian combat helicopter has crashed in the Crimea region, Russia’s defense ministry said Wednesday.

“While performing a scheduled flight over the Black Sea near the western coast of the Republic of Crimea, a Mi-24 helicopter crashed. The preliminary cause of the crash was an aircraft failure,” the ministry said, according to a statement reported by RIA Novosti.

The accident occurred around 6 a.m. Moscow time. Search and rescue services are at the scene, the statement noted. No information about any casualties is yet known.

Mi-24s are specialized transport and combat helicopters that can transport small numbers of troops. RIA Novosti noted that the aircraft can provide “direct fire support for ground troops and combat enemy armored vehicles.””

Lets Vote.

“As a low-profile, rank-and-file congressman representing his deeply red district, Representative Mike Johnson took the positions of a hard-liner.

He repeatedly voted down efforts to send aid to Ukraine, citing insufficient oversight of where the money would go. He opposed the stopgap funding bill that then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy put on the House floor in efforts to avert a government shutdown. He supported a sweeping overhaul favored by libertarians to the law that undergirds a warrantless surveillance program that is reviled by right-wing lawmakers who distrust federal law enforcement.

But now that he is Speaker Johnson, he has changed his tune considerably, much to the chagrin and outrage of the right-wing lawmakers with whom he once found common cause.

After months of refusing to bring up a bill to send a fresh infusion of aid to Ukraine, Mr. Johnson is now searching for a way to advance it, having privately pledged that the Congress would “do our job.” Despite a vow in the fall never to pass another stopgap funding bill to keep the government open, he put forward several to allow more time to negotiate funding agreements with Democrats that were opposed by many of his members. And later this week, the speaker plans to put to a vote a bill making more modest changes to the surveillance program, over the objections of hard-right lawmakers and activists who have sought to place strict limits on it.”

The 118th Congressional session has been a disaster. Can’t wait for November elections. Anything will be better.

Jamming GPS in their own cities. That seems like a sign of weakness... Maybe useful, but still not good.

“The Israeli army has in recent days disrupted GPS signals over a number of cities, including the Tel Aviv metropolitan area and Jerusalem, with the aim of thwarting missile or drone attacks potentially fired by Iran or Iran-backed groups in the region.

The jamming caused major disruptions to daily life, sparking frustration across Israel. Residents using mapping applications such as Google Maps or Waze to commute in Tel Aviv said their apps showed they were in the Lebanese capital Beirut or Cairo in Egypt.

Many people took to social media to post screenshots of the jamming, which disrupted online payments, deliveries and car-hailing services.

Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari last week said that Israel initiated GPS interference “in order to neutralize threats,” adding that “we are aware that these disruptions cause inconveniences, but it is a vital and necessary tool in our defensive capabilities.”

The jamming was at its peak last week, but sporadically persists this week. Israel has been on high alert since its strike in Damascus last week that killed top Iranian commanders, prompting a promise of retaliation from Iran.

Sina Toossi, an Iran expert and senior fellow at the Center for International Policy in Washington, DC, warned that some Iranian drones are not easily susceptible to jamming. “Such extensive GPS jamming in Israel seems to reflect a lack of confidence in the effectiveness of their anti-missile & drone defense systems,” he wrote on X.”

I have been an enthusiastic Trump voter, but I cannot conscience throwing the Ukrainian population to the wolves, and rewarding Putin’s aggression.

No Ukraine aid, no vote from me.

I don’t think he’ll do that. The idea that he’d throw UKR under the Russian bus was originally Russian talking point.

With UKR going to the Russians, all of NATO will be t risk, starting with the Baltics.

No European nation would ever again trust the US, and all of them would despise DJT. It would make Biden’s Afghan pull out look like a minor incident.

The question one has to ask: Is Trump that stupid?

“I don’t think he’ll (Trump) do that.” (cut off Ukraine aid)

I did not think so either, but now I am losing faith.

The mud will be drying soon, and Russian meat waves are already positioned near the front to move.

I feel the situation becoming urgent.

“A New York appeals court on Wednesday declined another bid by former President Trump to delay his hush money trial for the third time this week. “

“Iranian aviation authority issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) to ask aircraft to avoid certain sections of Iranian airspace, between 10-APR and 12-APR, for reason of “E) ROCKET LAUNCHES”
Airlines comply to avoid aviation accidents.”

“Several airliners and countries suspend flights over Iran. Lets keep an eye open. Even air traffic above Tehran is suspended, reportedly from midnight, due to ‘military training’.”
