Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

From the Intel Update:

...highlights the lack of situational awareness and coordination between elements of the Russian armed forces...

Russian air defense is highly centralized.

When lines of communication are cut, individual units are forced into autonomous operation.

Bad decisions are made and friendly shoot-downs can result.

[ Confused Russian Pilots Bombed Their Own Assault Groups ]

Day 773: Apr 06

Today, there are a lot of updates from the Bakhmut direction.

The most intensive fights are taking place on the northern flank of Chasiv Yar.

Here, Russian forces conducted a series of powerful mechanized assaults and officially started their next great battle - the Battle for Chasiv Yar.

Russian forces seem to have thrown every unit at their disposal - professionals and newly mobilized soldiers alike - because while some Russian assault units coordinated well, others had such disastrous coordination that most of them died due to friendly fire.

Last time, I told you how Russians managed to advance along the railways and reach the small forest just 500 meters away from the stronghold.

According to the freshest updates, Russians tried to maintain their pace of advancement with the aim of entering Chasiv Yar from the east.

In order to set conditions for the next wave of assaults, Russians conducted artillery preparation on the Ukrainian trenches, and bombed the surrounding Ukrainian defensive positions with glide bombs.

After suppressing Ukrainian fire, Russians sent ahead a column of infantry fighting vehicles with infantrymen on board into assault.

Russians sent forward a column of eight BMP infantry fighting vehicles, which is twice as much as before.

The vehicles tried to keep their distance from each other while maintaining high speed on the road, which made them harder to target by Ukrainian artillery fire.

As the assault group got closer, it split into two units, where one BMP drove directly to the town.

This lone BMP was deployed as a decoy in order to divert the focus of the Ukrainian fire from the main assault group.

The lone BMP that drove to Chasiv Yar was subsequently destroyed by artillery fire once it stopped, but it managed to dismount an assault squad of Russians, which quickly found themselves under fire as well.

The suicide squad was too small, with only around seven troops that a BMP could carry.

Even if they were not killed by the Ukrainian strikes, other units could not resupply them due to intensive fire, and it would not be worth the risk of more losses to save a squad, so the Russian troops were left on their own and were likely killed.

Meanwhile, the other 7 BMPs dismounted their infantry in the small forest. From here, Russians would try to take control of the forest in order to continue their attempt at taking control of the Kanal district.

Combat footage reveals that in one such assault, 3 BMPs were trying to flee from Ukrainian artillery.

Even though all 3 vehicles successfully dismounted their infantry, the Russian soldiers were immediately targeted by Ukrainian precision strikes.

To make things worse, Russian Sukhoi-25 close air support aircraft bombed their own forces by accident, minimizing the chances of survival of Russian troops to zero.

This displays a lack of coordination and poor communication.

Due to complex Russian bureaucracy and centralized command with long decision-making, it takes up to 4 hours for air support to arrive on strike at designated targets, which, in most cases, are relocated by that time.

So, by the time the Russian close air support conducted the airstrike, the Russian ground forces moved into the targeted zone in trying to adjust to the fighting conditions.

Furthermore, the centralized decision-making in relation to the deployment of air support, cuts off regular units from regular soldiers and their platoon leaders from having any form of communication with close air support, thus preventing them from calling off air support that can endanger friendly forces.

Ukrainians knew that Russians would launch direct frontal assaults on the town and dug trenches in front of high-rise buildings along Zelenaya and Gorbatova Streets, while camouflaged observation points were set up in high-rise buildings for correction of artillery fire and guidance of drone strikes.

While Russians did manage to enter eastern parts of Chasiv Yar, it was just temporary, and their only realistic gains are the positions within the forest between the town of Bohdanivka.

The Russian goal is to establish control of the canal district of the town, but such head-on assaults on the town would be unsustainable, and it is questionable if Russians can bypass positions that were being fortified for months in advance, due to high-rise buildings, and trenches at virtually every corner of the town district.

Many Russian analysts admitted that Russians will not try to cross the canal, and in the best case scenario, will stop at the canal district and focus on expanding their control northward and southward in trying to secure Bohdanivka and Ivanivske.

The Russian assaults on the canal district therefore are meant to distract Ukrainian forces and prevent them from asserting fire control from high-rise buildings.

The destruction of Ukrainian forces and the suppression of their fire is essential for achieving any progress in and around Bohdanivka, because so far Russians have proved unable to take it in front.

If Russian forces manage to establish complete control over the two villages, they will be used as a staging ground for Russian flank attacks on Chasiv Yar from the northern direction of Bohdanivka and from the southern direction of Ivanivske.

However, launching the attacks across the canal is an incredibly hard endeavor, given that this geographical barrier is located in front of Ukrainian fortifications in the residential areas.

The success rate of any potential assault here would be close to zero

Shoigu was offended by the French and in a conversation with Putin remembered Napoleon

The story of the conversation between Sergei Shoigu and his French colleague Lecornu continued. It turns out that Sergei Kuzhugetovich was offended by the Frenchman for the tone of the conversation and the insufficient level of respect. And he shared his grievances with the President.

“Shoigu reported to Vladimir Vladimirovich { Putin } on the results of the conversation with the Frenchman. He was very militant and said that the French army was nothing special. And if something happens, we will defeat them easily - like Napoleon,” a source in the Kremlin told us.

According to another interlocutor, Putin, after talking with Shoigu, talked with several high-ranking military officials about whether we would really defeat the French so easily in the event of a direct clash.

“Few people share Shoigu’s optimism. Sergei Kuzhugetovich probably doesn’t know history well. After all, the victory over Napoleon was not so easy. Then Moscow was occupied and burning. But the Minister of Defense chose to forget about it.

“Seriously, many military personnel fear a direct clash with the French army. And they warn that if troops from France or another NATO country appear in Ukraine, we may have to retreat at the front,” the source said.

According to him, many in the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff fear that Shoigu, under the influence of emotions, has lost his common sense, and this “could lead to tragic consequences.”

“We don’t need a burning Moscow again. Everyone hopes that Sergei Kuzhugetovich { Shoigu } will calm down and begin to approach the situation sensibly,” a source close to Valery Gerasimov told us.

After the dam breaks in Orsk, Putin will be asked to introduce a new tax

The situation with the dam break in Orsk [ https://t.me/shot_shot/64669 ] shows the problem of serious underfunding of important infrastructure facilities in Russia. It can be solved by redistributing expenditures from the federal and local budgets or by introducing a new tax in the country.

This opinion was expressed to us by sources in the government and the Kremlin, commenting on what was happening in Orsk. “Russia is waging a brutal war against the Nazis and the West. It is clear that military operations require a lot of money.

“And it is clear that it is impossible to withdraw funds allocated for SVO. At the same time, our infrastructure is getting worse. Either the dam breaks, or people freeze to death in their apartments [ https://t.me/kremlin_secrets/3408 ]. Something needs to be done about this,” says one of the interlocutors.

In his opinion, a good way out of the situation could be the introduction of a new “infrastructure” tax in Russia - similar to the tax on childlessness [https://t.me/kremlin_secrets/3859], which is going to be introduced in the summer.

“If everyone pays small amounts, no more than 4-5% of income, and as a result the situation with infrastructure facilities improves, it will be good and effective. It is clear that the SVO is the main thing, but we should not forget about other problems,” a government source agreed with him.

He clarified that the new tax is just an idea for now. But a number of government specialists are already working on it and will be ready to submit relevant proposals to the president in a few weeks.

“Challenging times require difficult decisions. The main thing is for everyone to know that we will win,” said a source close to Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin. He declined to say whether the president would consider introducing a new tax.

An important Russian general almost died in Africa

In Burkina Faso, unknown persons attacked a convoy in which General Andrei Averyanov was located. This is a very difficult military man. It is he who oversees the projects that Wagner PMC previously conducted in Africa.

As you know, after the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin, it was Averyanov, as the head of the secret unit 29155, who began to contact the leaders of a number of foreign states to continue close cooperation on the continent, but under the umbrella of the GRU.

On April 5, Averyanov arrived in Burkina Faso on an unannounced visit. However, the trips of such people are unlikely to be announced. While advancing as part of a convoy, the car with the general was hit by a kamikaze drone.

Averyanov was literally born in a shirt, because his car was hit by an impact, but he himself survived. What saved him was the armor of the car and the fact that the blow hit the front of the car, and the general was behind him.

Our forces located in Burkina Faso and local authorities have devoted all their efforts to searching for the attackers, but so far they have not been found. The general needed medical attention, and two people died as a result of the attack.

Sources hint that Ukrainian intelligence services may have been involved in the attack. After all, they often use FPV drones, including during conflicts in Africa. However, the search for hunters for the general continues.

Additional air defense systems were urgently deployed to Moscow and the Moscow region. A serious attack has been reported

After enemy attacks on several of our airfields, Sergei Sobyanin turned to the military with a request to urgently strengthen the air defense system of the capital. This request has already been granted.

“Sergei Semenovich learned from intelligence acquaintances that there could be a serious air attack on Moscow in the coming week. There are rumors of a simultaneous strike by 70-100 drones.

“It’s good that the military heard us. Now our air defense and 200 drones will not break through,” one of Sobyanin’s deputies told us.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed the transfer of additional air defense systems and electronic warfare systems to the capital. Sources in the department did not say where they were brought from, citing military secrets.

Notorious Russian general, master spy duo organise in Africa after Prigozhin’s demise

https://www.france24.com/en/africa/20230920-notorious-russian-general-master-spy-duo-organise-in-africa-after-prigozhin-s-demise

In recent weeks, Russia’s Deputy Defence Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and General Andrei Averyanov from the GRU military intelligence agency have made several trips to Africa.

The two are increasingly seen as the main organisers of the post-Prigozhin era of Russian relationships with Africa following the Wagner Group chief’s demise in a fiery plane crash at the end of August.

Averyanov and the GRU assassins
Diplomatic finesse is arguably not Averyanov’s strong suit. General Averyanov is best known for having led the GRU’s infamous 29155 unit, which specialises in covert operations like sabotage and assassination.

Spies from this unit are suspected of having blown up an ammunition depot in the Czech Republic in 2014, attempting to stage a pro-Serbian coup in Montenegro in 2016 and the attempted poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal in 2018.

In other words, “[Averyanov’s] qualification is preparing special operations abroad. He is the ‘hit and kill guy’ you call when you need this kind of service,” says Heinemann-Gruder.

What’s in it for African regimes? “Averyanov can … take over some elements of regime security, and not only bodyguard services, but also in [his] area of specialisation: repression and targeted assassination,” adds Klyszcz.

But Averyanov is more than a cold-blooded killer. “Averyanov is a decorated veteran from Afghanistan and Chechnya and was also active in Moldova and Crimea.

“As with all Russian special operatives, he is trained to take the initiative, operate cut off from superiors’ orders, and make links with local allies,” says Jeff Hawn, Russia specialist and an external consultant for the New Lines Institute.

This pedigree makes him an ideal candidate to negotiate with local military groups, just as Wagner’s managers would do when arriving in a new country in Africa.

“Russia is waging a brutal war against the Nazis and the West.

Well, bless his deluded and deranged heart. And how many Russian casualties/day does this cost, hmmm?

I have to wonder … do normal, everyday Russians believe BS like this? Especially when the death notices and former convicts come home from the front?

There was no war until Putin brought one to Ukraine. In fact, the West was demilitarizing itself at a record pace and happily doing business with their new Russian friends right up until Putin went Soviet and crossed the border with his army, just like back in the ol’ days.

All that good will and commerce between friends and neighbors just blown away for what? Nazis?? Yeah, right. That’s just some deranged and deluded, paranoid BS excuse to kill people and take their stuff. You Soviet squatters suck.

Within 24 hours. Maybe 25 hours maximum.

“Inside Donald Trump’s secret plan to end the Ukraine-Russia war”

“Former president Donald Trump has privately said he could end Russia’s war in Ukraine by pressuring Ukraine to give up some territory, according to people familiar with the plan. Some foreign policy experts said Trump’s idea would reward Russian President Vladimir Putin and condone the violation of internationally recognized borders by force.

Trump’s proposal consists of pushing Ukraine to cede Crimea and the Donbas border region to Russia, according to people who discussed it with Trump or his advisers and spoke on the condition of anonymity because those conversations were confidential. That approach, which has not been previously reported, would dramatically reverse President Biden’s policy, which has emphasized curtailing Russian aggression and providing military aid to Ukraine.

As he seeks a return to power, the presumptive Republican nominee has frequently boasted that he could negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours if elected, even before taking office. But he has repeatedly declined to specify publicly how he would quickly settle a war that has raged for more than two years and killed tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians.”

“No amount of leverage the United States has is likely to compel Ukrainian leadership to engage in policies that would constitute domestic political suicide,” said Michael Kofman, an analyst of the Russia-Ukraine war at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a nonpartisan research center. “And no amount of leverage the United States has can compel Ukraine to cede territory or engage in these types of concessions. This is a situation where if you’re willing to give a hand, the other side will very quickly want the rest of the arm.”

proposal consists of pushing Ukraine to cede Crimea and the Donbas border region to Russia

Such a plan is doomed to fail, and DJT will be hated by all Ukrainians. Russia, after its victory parades and celebrations, will then begin its announced campaign to eliminate all Ukrainians by deportation to Siberia or by murder.

No mention is made of the Zaporizhzhya and Kerson Oblasts. Both of which Russia has written into its “constitution” as part of Russia.

After that huge victory, Putin will begin consolidating and getting ready to move on the Baltics, Poland, and Moldova.

Europe will rapidly cool to all things US and DJT. Perhaps to the point of becoming hostile.

“Intel Chair Turner: ‘Absolutely true’ that Russian propaganda has infected US Congress”

“House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner (R-Ohio) stressed the expansive reach of Russian propaganda and said Sunday it has even presented itself on the floor of the U.S. Congress.

In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, Turner said he agreed with Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, who singled out conservative news outlets and said, “Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it’s infected a good chunk of my party’s base.”

“Oh, it’s absolutely true,” Turner told Tapper about McCaul’s remarks. “We see directly coming from Russia attempts to mask communications that are anti-Ukraine and pro-Russia messages, some of which we even hear being uttered on the House floor.”

“I mean, there are members of Congress today, who still incorrectly say that this conflict between Russia and Ukraine is over NATO, which of course it is not,” Turner said. “[Russian President] Vladimir Putin having made it very clear, both publicly and to his own population, that his view is that this is a conflict of a much broader claim of Russia, to Eastern Europe, and including claiming all of Ukraine territory as Russia’s.”

Turner said the propaganda has made it increasingly more difficult to pass Ukraine aid and to present a clear picture of a battle between democracy and authoritarianism.

“Now, to the extent that this propaganda takes hold, it makes it more difficult for us to really see this as an authoritarian versus democracy battle, which is what it is. President Xi [Jinping] of China, Vladimir Putin himself have identified it as such,” Turner said.

“We need to stand up for democracy. We need to make certain that we know that authoritarian regimes never stop when they start an aggression. Ukraine needs our help and assistance now and this is a very critical time for the U.S. Congress to step up and provide that aid,” Turner continued.

Unnamed “people”, who “spoke on the condition of anonymity”

Sounds like what they said about Giorgia Meloni in Italy, before her election.

Similar sources stated that Trump would also sacrifice babies to the devil, and misgender people with pronouns.
