Not same but similar (the article mentions the generation of Babel moving eastward....) but similarly, when Genesis mentions:

Abraham gave everything he owned to his son Isaac. But before he died, he gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them off to a land in the east, away from Isaac.
The Jewish commentaries say the “gifts” were “impure names of G-d,” ie, the power of “magics” etc... manipulating physicality (but in an improper way.) So something akin to fighting powers/martial arts/mysticism.
That really doesn’t seem to fit with what is known about Abraham. It makes no sense that he’d have anything to do with impure names of God nor be able to confer mystical powers on others.
