I don’t view the scene in that Jesus needed Matthew’s help but rather Jesus was taking an opportunity to make a connection

Have you ever asked your Child to “help” you with something or a task not because you need their help but rather to make a life impacting connection with them?

The CHURCH is to be more like the BRIDE of Christ. In that relationship we are to submit to HIS authority and ENJOY the freedom and the relationship in such a way that we know and do the WILL of Father God

I don’t think Matthew was a near helpless guy to being with. Nor would asking an ADULT to help be like working together on a project with your kids. It is BOTH an unbiblical view of Matthew (who wrote one of the Gospels) AND an unbiblical view of JESUS.

The problem with this series is that it misleads, and does so in a way that seems to pull believers AWAY from the Bible!

Definitely how that came across. It was not Jesus letting Matthew help out, it was Matthew definitely showing Jesus where he was wrong. And the Sermon on the Mount as a stage production, with Jesus rehearsing? A bridge too far.
