Just asking a question.
If Bush gets blamed for not cleaning up 8 years of Clinton in 9 months, does Trump get blamed for not cleaning up 8 years of Obama in 9 months?
The negative consequences of both Clinton and Obama are still with us.
I disagree with this “blame game” in some respects.
I do think there is an aspect that is true in your post, but I don’t think Trump had any idea of the depth of the “Deep State”.
Personally, I rejected the use of the “Deep State” term myself, but after seeing what has occurred on the surface since 2015 where we can see it with our own eyes (even though the government and media insist is ISN’T happening) makes it impossible for me to reject it.
Trump was doing battle with the Deep State his entire term, and that included many in his own Administration. Trump was likely similar to me in that respect, but he sure found out.
Trump is deserving of much criticism over the lack of spending cuts, as an example, but after watching how deeply this cancer is entrenched, even with something like building a wall, where he was fought by EVERYONE in the government, media, entertainment, and education, including people who were ostensibly on his team, I don’t see how he could have done anything.
He was in survival mode for his entire Presidency.
I think it is fair to judge him and the likes of George W. Bush by today’s standards because it is historically not that long ago, but I don’t care for this practice of blaming people on what they “didn’t” do, because it is what I see the Left doing with the Founders, saying they were hypocrites because they didn’t get rid of slavery and give women the right to vote at the founding of the country.
It took 100 years to eliminate slavery, but it got done. Women got the right to vote, but it took time.
Judging people who have lived in past times by the standards of today is bad practice.
People change.
That is how I feel about it, though we may differ on it.
