These kind of fungi spread like wildfires in a hospital setting and patients who are immuno-compromised are highly susceptible. It’s why the worst place for a sick person is a hospital, get your treatment and gtfo and try to recover at home, if you can. I’ve lost loved ones who went into the hospital for one thing relatively minor and never made it out after being infected with a fungus.

Symptoms:
The symptoms of C. auris infection can vary widely depending on the person and the affected body part.
The most common symptoms include fever and chills, but these are also common in many other infections.
Challenges in Identification: Most people with C. auris are already being treated for another condition, making symptoms difficult to identify.
At-Risk Populations:
C. auris is most common among people with multiple chronic or recurrent health conditions.
Individuals living in nursing facilities or those with frequent hospitalizations are at a higher risk of C. auris infection.

Patients requiring complex medical care with invasive measures like breathing & feeding tubes, catheters ....
The article is alarmist & preys on people already traumatized by C19 fear porn. Lots of words like ‘global’ & ‘collective’, etc.
Most people will not be in hospitals & nursing homes or have invasive procedures. Take care of your health... eat well, sleep well, get outside & be as active as possible, get lots of Vit D (sunshine and/or supplement), practice good hygiene- wash your hands. Be kind to those you love. The “fungus amongus” will primarily be the purveyors of hyped up fear.
Just in time for the election. These pesky health concerns.
