There was a running gag on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (2005-2014) that started when he asked for a picture of Paul McCartney, and the show flashed up a picture of Angela Landsbury. The LA Times couldn't understand why people thought the joke was funny, so Craig repeated it for the 10 years he hosted the show. This joke was later expanded to a few other combinations, like asking for a picture of Tom Petty and ending up with Ann Coulter (and vice versa). Your comment reminded me of that.
