Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

«DETAILS OF SPECIAL OPERATION "CITADEL"👇

According to intelligence, one of the illegally seized mining platforms was used by the Russians to enhance the operation of the Iranian-made Mohajer-6 unmanned aerial vehicle. Namely, they installed equipment that increases the range and radius of its operation. This UAV was used by the enemy for reconnaissance and subsequent strikes with Shahed kamikaze drones on critical infrastructure facilities in the south of Ukraine.

In addition, the enemy installed a radar station for detecting surface objects (from motor boats to ships) "Neva-B" on the platform. With the help of this radar, the Russians controlled the situation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

After careful planning and preparation, the group of the 73rd SOF Marine Center began the task of destroying enemy facilities.

The special operation was carried out in the zone of constant patrolling by the Russian aviation and navy. At night, the boats of the 73rd Marine Center came close to the mining platform. After carrying out special actions and cleaning, the object was demined. The combat group withdrew to a safe distance and blew up the enemy target. As a result, important enemy equipment was captured and a mast with an antenna was blown up.

The successfully conducted special operation ensured safer movement of ships and limited the enemy's capabilities in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.»

Exact date of "CITADEL" is not provided. This certainly occurred many months ago.

The Prana Network hacker group breached the email servers of the Iranian company IRGC Sahara Thunder, that facilitates arms sales from Iran to Russia. The servers contained data on the production of Shahed-136 attack drones for Russia. The documents do not directly mention the type of product being manufactured. Instead, drones are listed in documents under a special code as "Dolphin 632 type motor boat."

The Iranian side announced a starting price of $375,000 per unit. However, during the negotiations, an agreement was reached for $193,000 per piece when ordering 6,000 units or $290,000 when ordering 2,000 units. The total price of the production contract, including the transfer of technologies, equipment, 6,000 pieces of UAVs and software, is roughly $1.75 billion. According to other published documents, at least partially, Russia conducts its financial transactions and payments with Iran in gold.

IMHO,$193,000 per drone is not cheap.

With a shoot-down rate of 80% each successful drone costs $965,000.

There is also a Senate funding bill for Foreign Aid that includes money for Ukraine, Israel and the Border.

9 US Ambassadors have signed a petition to push it forward. Its a question now if the US stands with its friends and allies or not. China, for one, would love to know.

Sounds like the "Boyko Towers" oil platforms, on which the Russians used to have their sea control radars mounted (liberated September 2023).

Musings for the day

1). Trump lost appeal of ‘immunity’ claim. Totally expected. If I was a betting man, which I am, I predict the Supreme Court will refuse to take up the case.

2). Expect at least 2 criminal cases to be heard before the election. Possibly before the R convention.

3). The House’s plan to vote on Israeli aid as a separate package will fail. Johnson’s plan to use suspension calendar for the vote means a 2/3 vote is required. I’d give that vote a 100% chance of failing.

This comes on top of South Korea cancelling deliveries of ice hardened LNG Tankers for the Arctic LNG-2 Project.

Russia’s New LNG Project Stumbles as U.S. Sanctions Delay Ship Delivery

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Russias-New-LNG-Project-Stumbles-as-US-Sanctions-Delay-Ship-Delivery.html

“Japan’s shipping giant Mitsui OSK Lines is unable to deliver ice-breaker class ships to Russia’s new LNG export project in the Arctic because of the U.S. sanctions levied on the project’s operator at the end of last year, the president of the Japanese firm told Bloomberg in an interview on Tuesday.

The U.S. sanctions on Russia’s latest LNG project, Arctic LNG 2 of the largest Russian LNG exporter, Novatek, have upended the company’s plans for production start-up and export timelines.

In November, the U.S. Department of State designated limited liability company ARCTIC LNG 2, the operator of the Arctic LNG 2 Project, as part of additional sanctions against Russia “to further target individuals and entities associated with Russia’s war effort and other malign activities.”

This has led some minority shareholders in the project, including France’s TotalEnergies, to declare force majeure on future deliveries.

Novatek holds a 60% stake in Arctic LNG 2. The other shareholders include CNOOC of China and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), TotalEnergies, and Japanese firms Mitsui Group and Jogmec.

Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines was supposed to deliver three ice-class breakers to carry LNG from the Arctic plant. The first of the three ice-breaker LNG vessels is expected to finish construction later this year.

“Our contractual obligation is that if we cannot provide the service to Arctic 2, we have to sell our vessel to Arctic 2,” Mitsui OSK Lines president Takeshi Hashimoto told Bloomberg.
But “there is a sanction that says we should not do that deal with Arctic. So it’s a bit complicated,” the Japanese executive added.

The company is working with the U.S. and Japanese governments to find a solution to the ship delivery issue, he added.

Potential contract cancellations for the construction of ice-class LNG carriers and U.S. sanctions on the latest Russian LNG export project could hamper Russia’s plans to boost LNG sales now that its pipeline route to Europe is largely cut off.”

MORALE IS A FACTOR: Calls home intercepted by UKR intelligence indicate not only the abysmal moral of RU troops, but the spread of communicable diseases like hepatitis, tuberculosis, lung disease, and HIV.

A number of mutinies were also reported.

More embarrassment for the most incompetent military on earth as British/French SCALP missiles glide effortlessly over a field of Russia's most advanced S-400/S-300 air defense systems on the way to strike Belbek air base in Crimea.

Even the Russians filming can't believe.

Hungarian opposition political Parties tried to call an emergency session of Parliament on Monday, to vote on Sweden’s accession to NATO, but Orban’s Fidesz Party did not attend, so no quorum was reached.

Orban wants a State visit from Sweden first.

Netherlands to send 6 more F-16s to Ukraine

https://kyivindependent.com/ukraine-war-latest-february-5-2024/

“The Netherlands is preparing to send Ukraine an additional six U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren announced on Feb. 5, bringing the total number of jets pledged to Ukraine by the Netherlands to 24 (during 2024 and 2025).

In a separate announcement, the Dutch Defense Ministry explained that the six additional jets became available for Ukraine since an agreement to sell these planes to Draken International, an American aerospace and defense company, was canceled.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Dec. 22 that the Netherlands was preparing the initial batch of 18 F-16s for delivery to Ukraine. The Dutch Air Force is transitioning to more advanced F-35 fighter jets.

In mid-August 2023, Denmark pledged to give Ukraine 19 F-16s, with the first batch of six aircraft expected to be delivered in spring 2024 and the rest by 2025.

Belgium’s defense minister has promised several jets, which would likely arrive in 2025. According to Norwegian broadcaster NRK, Norway plans to send between five and 10 planes.

Experts told the Kyiv Independent that Ukraine will likely have at least some F-16s operational in late spring or early summer.”

(Reuters) - “The prosecutor leading Sweden’s investigation into the Nord Stream gas pipeline blasts in the Baltic Sea in 2022 expects to make an announcement on the case on Wednesday (7 Feb), his office said on Tuesday.

The Swedish prosecutor’s office said on Monday a statement would likely come some time this week and would contain a decision on whether to drop the case, press charges or request that someone is detained.”

Late spring or early summer.

IMHO, first priority is intercepting Shahed drones.

Drive the shoot down rate to greater than 95%.

German and Danish investigations are still underway.

F-16s pledged to Ukraine:

Netherlands - 24
Denmark - 18
Norway - 5 to 10

More than 4,500 F-16s have been produced, and the 1,000th F-35 has already been produced (as of 18 January 2024).

Other nations could likely quickly chip in some more if needed, once all the long lead time start up infrastructure and training is in place.

Can we sink some ships and blow up the Kerch Bridge again too?
