Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

There's not enough aspirin in Russia to cure the headache Putin must have this morning after this past 48 hours.

- Sinking of Russian warship Ivanovets
- Attack on Russian occupied Belbek airfield in Crimea
- EU approves €50 billion in Ukraine assistance
- US confirms imminent delivery of the newest GLSDB guided bombs to Ukraine
- British police arrest and freeze assets of Russia's former puppet head of occupied Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov in London

What next?

Oops, one of those 13 Surface vessels (Admiral Makarov) was able to be repaired. 12 lost completely (about 20% of the Surface ships).

“What next?”

Another round of sanctions coming to commemorate the anniversary.
Countries will start seizing and spending Russian assets, beyond just freezing.
Sweden will join NATO.
Orban stop answering Putin’s calls or shaking his hand.
American Military aid will be approved.
China will have economic problems of its own to worry about.
Western Artillery production capacity will keep growing, based on contracts already awarded.
GLSDBs will start impacting.
F-16s are still coming.
Kerch Bridge will be hit again.
Russian refineries and export terminals will explode, and no International coalitions will rush to restore them.

And the biggest Russian tragedy of all - Vlad the Disastrous will be “re-elected”.

⚡️At Belbek airfield in occupied Crimea, at least three 🇷🇺 Russian planes and personnel were damaged during recent attacks, 🇺🇦 Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat claims.

Satellite images and Russian obituaries serve as evidence.

Still waiting on satellite images.

"GLSDBs will start impacting."

I wonder what the production rate of GLSDBs is.

I believe GLSDBs will be very popular within NATO and other U.S. allies.

Boeing & SAAB will sell many of them.

Strikes are carried out against positions of Russian drone operators...

Another attack against RU drone operators.

Located by ELINT? My guess is yes.

Russian pilots have accidentally dropped yet another bomb. Five such cases are known on Russian or Russian-occupied territories, and this has become a pattern.

There are several possible reasons for this:
◾️ sabotage by technicians at airfields;
◾️ poor quality of equipment;
◾️ unwillingness of pilots either to shoot at Ukraine or, more realistically, to fly closer to the launch line, as Ukraine's long-range artillery can destroy the aircraft.

The third version seems realistic enough.

The third version seems realistic enough.

I agree...I believe there are many of these bombs at the bottom of the Azov sea.

⚡🇺🇦💪💥Video of the attack on the #Russian boat Ivanovets in occupied #Crimea from the cameras of each of the six #Ukrainian #Magura V5 marine drones. The ship was carrying heavy Moskit cruise missiles, which led to the detonation and sinking of the vessel. 1/2

The cost of the lost ship is tentatively $60-70 million. 2/2

Pentagon considering some form of takeover of the Starship program - sort of a rental agreement. SpaceX has not public confirmed this, but could be very lucrative for them.

Review Head Set Wars - Apple Vision Pro stomps all competition. Other brands are much cheaper, but they will have to rise a whole lot (think Mt Everest in size) to meet the VP on even terms.

That must have been a heck of a garage find, I think Russia would also want to bid on that.

“Russian Black Sea Tarantul-class corvette Ivanovets has sunk after an attack with naval drones”

Kyiv Post reports:

“Ukraine used MAGURA V5 multi-purpose unmanned surface vessels (USV) to sink a Russian missile boat earlier this week, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR), has revealed.

Kyrylo Budanov told The War Zone that “six direct hits by naval drones were made to the hull of the ship,” adding: “As a result of the damage, the ship rolled astern and sank.”...

...The MAGURA V5’s hydrodynamic body and sleek profile give it a quasi-stealth profile combined with excellent maneuverability.

It is 5.5 meters (18 feet) long and, 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) wide. It has a cruising speed of 22 knots (40.7 kilometers per hour) with a maximum speed of 42 knots (77.8 kilometers per hour) and a range of approximately 833 kilometers (518 miles).

“It is an affordable solution that can be easily launched from any remote location,” its developers, SpecialTechnoExport stated at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in July 2023.”

It’s not a stockpile, but several manufacturers outside Europe that could fill the gap, and allow the EU to fulfill its promise of 1M shells by March. I’m guessing Turkey, Pakistan, maybe Egypt. I think it was France who demanded 100% of the shells came from EU. Having failed, Czechia is pushing to bend that policy.

“I think it was France who demanded 100% of the shells came from EU”

I believe that is correct.

The rationale given, was that it was important for Europe to develop their Defense industrial capacity. That objective has significantly been addressed, by how their program was structured, and the contracts that were awarded.

The thing that has changed, is the (short term?) drying up of the expected American contribution, which is a gap that needs to be filled.
