Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Wow!

Looked like it (the Russian Corvette Ivanovets) got hit several times.

When will those kids learn to stay out of bad neighborhoods at night?

Still a little foggy on exactly where this happened, regardless not a good look.
Brings up an old question of mine, can anti ship missiles be mounted on small boats.
If the Ukrainians can get these boats all the way to the ship,‘they should be able to easily get them within missile range and do far more damage, while causing massive problems for muskovites trying to deal with this threat

“can anti ship missiles be mounted on small boats”

I guess that the rocking of the ship is harder to stabilize, the smaller it is.

Maybe they could haul some GLSDBs within range of Stevastopol, and pop some there as well.

Good Morning All...2/1/2024.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released absolutely spectacular footages of an USV attack against Russian corvette “Ivanovets” (Project 12411) near the Russian-occupied peninsula of Crimea.

The Russian corvette got hit by at least two possibly three Ukrainian USVs. You clearly see a gaping hole midship from the previous USV when another USV rams the Ivanovets.

The spectacular explosion in the end marks also the end of the ship.

Congratulations to this absolute professional operation.

The EU agreed upon to send 50 billion Euro support package to Ukraine. All 27 members agreed unanimously. (Source: @CharlesMichel)

According to multiple sources, Orban not only had to give up his Pro-Putin stance but also received no concessions in return. The Hungarian leadership hasn't issued any comments.

This is an important signal. Europe is taking the war, which Russia has started, serious. Even though the US' help is very important as well, it is imperative that Europeans take the lead, marking the adequate burden sharing.

“Waiting for Putin to claim that there were UKR POWs on board the Russian Corvette Ivanovets.”

Fortunately, he has underlings to make such outrageous claims for him, full time. He has a lot on his plate.

Putin 🇷🇺 himself is now celebrating the capture of 19 houses on the outskirts of Avdvika 🇺🇦.

I think I remember that the strategic objectives of the war he launched were originally somewhat more ambitious.

“The EU agreed upon to send 50 billion Euro support package to Ukraine. All 27 members agreed unanimously.”

Bottom Line: The Ukrainian Government will continue to function for at least the next several years.

Putin can stuff that into his calculus.

He has accumulated a lot of enemies, who wield a lot more GDP than he does.

"There is no so-called problem of fatigue from Ukraine, but there is a problem of fatigue from Viktor Orbán.

We have to solve so many problems, and of course we need to strengthen our unity around Ukraine today," Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said.

According to the Washington Post, the ship cost between $60-70 Million. They also report:

“The private security firm Ambrey said Ukraine used up to six sea drones, each of which usually carry 300 kilograms (661 pounds) of explosives, in the attack.”

My guess is the Russian Corvette Ivanovets was deployed to Ozero Donuzlav (Lake Donuzlav) in western Crimea as a stop-gap SAM site.

Lake Donuzlav on Google Maps

The RU surface to air assets are stretched to the breaking point.

Comments welcome.

““can anti ship missiles be mounted on small boats””

I think another problem is the sheer size and weight required for sinking ships. Those Uncrewed Surface Vessel drones that Ukraine is using pack like 660 pounds of high explosive as their payload - it takes a big missile to deliver such payloads.

Russian Air Force affiliated channel Fighterbomber reports the loss of a Mi-8AMTSh transport helicopter.

The reason is not mentioned but according to the channel, it had to do with weather conditions.

Wikipedia for that class of Corvette, seems to say that it has just a few MANPADS for Air Defense:

Armament
4 × P-15 Termit/SS-N-2 Styx or 4 × P-270 Moskit/SS-N-22 Sunburn or 16 × Kh-35 Uran/SS-N-25 Switchblade anti-ship missiles.
1 SA-N-5 SAM (1x4) MANPADS air defence missiles
1 × 76 mm AK-176 dual purpose main gun
2 × AK-630 30 mm gun or 1 × CADS-N-1 Kashtan CIWS (close-in weapon system) for air defence
