Not legally literate. Does such collusion, if shown, taint the case legally? Or just bad optics that BidenObamas DOJ couldn’t care less about as long as it’s bad for Trump?

Yes. It does. Just think of charges of ‘conspiracy’ which are often brought against multiple Defendants who communicated together to plan and take actions to further their criminal enterprise. Remember, according to our Constitution, we do not find the man and then find the crime. We are supposed to discover a crime and then investigate to see who might have committed it.
In Trump’s case, they picked the man and then conspired together to find crimes they could charge him with in multiple jurisdictions. At the direction of “the powers that be” Jack Smith and others (I believe including Fani Willis in Atlanta) decided to go after Trump. They then met together to see what charges they could invent in order to do so. That is a conspiracy to violate a citizen’s constitutional rights.
In a just and constitutional world, all evidence used to further their investigation into Trump, including the charges actually against him, would be suppressed due to their criminal actions as ‘fruit of the poisonous” tree.
Let’s see if we still have a just nation and the Constitution still applies.
