Former President Donald Trump has urged all states to mobilize their National Guard units to help Texas defend its border amid the Lone Star State’s fight with the Biden administration over razor wire barriers.

Read Trump’s statement posted to Truth Social on Thursday below:

When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History. Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States. Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.…

We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border. All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people. When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home.

The former president’s call comes as the governors of 25 GOP-led states pledged to support Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts asserting constitutional authority over the right to erect razor wire boundaries in Eagle Pass.

Congress has the trump card. We can refuse to fund activity we do not agree with. For instance, in March, when funding expires, we can put a rider in the next bill that says none of the money hereby appropriated can be used to countermand border security measures of the states.

“This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure.”
—James Madison, The Federalist No. 58

How many congressmen rail against Biden’s transgressions yet still vote to fund them?

New Mexico, Arizona, and California combine to have about the same length of border as Texas.

Floria alreay has. A long time ago.

Indeed. As I recall, Gov. DeSantis was first to ship illegal aliens to sanctuary cities. The good liberals of Martha's Vineyard didn't like it ...

Yes, so closing the Texas border leaves just as much that’s still wide open. The entire border needs to be sealed tight.

Indeed. Regardless, Gov. Abbott and his allies in other States are doing the right thing.

The democrat governors of NM, AZ, and CA are traitors violating their respective oaths of office. They deserve a traitor’s reward.

I expect nothing else from CA, and not much better from NM, but it’s especially galling to know that if Kari Lake hadn’t been cheated out of the governorship of AZ, she’d be right with Gov. Abbott, if not slightly ahead.
