Prince-Senior Master Sargents are 2% of enlisted men. CMS’s are 1%. That means there’s a lot of weeding-out to get there. Most will put in a lot more than the 20 years as the job gets easier. Lower enlisteds are scared of them. They get more distant as they move up as they think of themselves as royalty.
80’s USAF. The last line in every APR required the social actions line that the airman supports the non-discriminatory goals, etc.
Without that statement, one did not advance or reenlist.
I would assume that requirement still exists and wonder if it has expanded to include the trans/LGBTQism that is the modern goal of our military.
70’s USAF. I supported equal opportunity. Didn’t know that until I read it in my APR.
I do believe the OER(Officer evaluation-something) was worse. A lotta butt kissing. Would Patton have gotten a good one?
The ideological purge of the Obama years was not without consequence. The Milley/Vindman types were elevated, soon to be running the show.
To think Vindman was offered the defense secretary job in Ukraine. A good fit considering the corruption and back stabbing going on. He made the right choice to not accept it. It would have increased the likelihood he’d be dead.
The training that was canceled didn’t mean anything anyway. I have never seen a senior enlisted person enter the training and come out different in any way.
