Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

My favorite has to be, it is better that muskova doesn’t have a great navy, is that top notch rationalizing?
Soon we will hear that it is a good thing that their tanks have been destroyed as they are obsolete, another goodwill gesture

“You are full of sh!t.”

As Ben Franklin said, What stings in any rebuke, is the truth of it.

Putin has been a thief and serial killer his whole adult life. Now he has graduated to mass murderer, on an historic scale.

Modern Russia has been made into a kleptocracy by Putin, and now he is far down the road to making it into Novo North Korea - an impoverished, highly militarized, oppressive police state.

I provided some links for some of Putin’s corruption - but just a few highlights. It is far to vast to discuss in detail. Many books could be written, and the facts are easily verified.

Russia has been cursed to have been subjected to another sociopath like him. He is destroying the economic gains of a generation of Russians, and their hopes for a better future. Russians have been disgraced around the world, by the atrocities committed under his command.

He shows every sign of driving Russia back into the Soviet Union, albeit with only Russia in it (probably not even Belarus).

An excellent article and excellent analysis. The 25mm Bushmaster gun is awesome.

The M2 crew was well trained and highly motivated.

The T-90M crew, not so much. On the video, they never took a shot.

Recommended reading for all.

Pentagon Arms F-35 With “Breakthrough” Stormbreaker Attack Bomb.

Here's a picture:

40NM range and able to track and destroy moving targets.

Carriage and release out of F-35 weapon's bay was the biggest design challenge.

Hopefully, 1500 is the initial/low rate production order.

FTA: In development for years, the now operational Stormbreaker arms the F-15E and F/A-18 and is currently testing on all three variants of F-35s.

My guess is the Stormbreaker is also certified for the F-16.

Some FOT&E under combat conitions is certainly warranted.

Ongoing efforts are being made to integrate the StormBreaker bomb with additional platforms including the F-16, F-22A, and F-35 aircraft, with completion anticipated in the upcoming months.

F/A-18E/F to carry GBU-53/B bomb, F-16 awaiting green light, too

Excerpt bits and pieces.
The Air Force plans to spend $320 million buying 1,500 units of the 204-pound munition
The Pentagon has suggested it might eventually order up to 26,610 StormBreakers, though figures of 12,000 or 17,000 have also been floated.
The air forces of Finland, Germany, and Norway also plan to procure StormBreakers to arm their fleets of F-35 stealth fighters.
South Korea has considered obtaining GBU-53/Bs for its F-15K fighters, which would allow them to pickoff North Korean missile trucks from a safe distance. Australia has also requested—and been given authorization to purchase—up to 3,900 StormBreakers for its F-35A fighters at an estimated cost of $815 million, but its unclear if an order has been placed.
Integration on the U.S. Navy’s carrier-based FA-18E/F Super Hornet jets is also planned using the BRU-55/A twin-storage rack by L3Harris
There have already been captive-carry tests to potentially integrate the weapon on the Air Force’s numerous F-16 fighters, which can also use the BRU-55 rack. Looking forward, the AC-130W and J gunships, MQ-9 combat drones, F-22 Raptor stealth fighters, A-10 attack jets, and B-52, B-1 and B-2 heavy bombers have, in the past, also been listed as candidates for StormBreaker integration.

the ultimate hope is its three-eyed sensors could enable it to more effectively destroy valid military targets on the move—like columns of invading tanks, militants racing towards a community in ‘technical’ pickup trucks, or ballistic missile launchers setting up to fire—while avoiding flattening everything and everyone else nearby.

NATO is taking seriously the rumors that Russia will attempt an Odesa landing soon.

I have come around to thinking that Ukraine will be able to keep Odesa.

Does anyone know the current defensive capabilities and expectations for it?

NATO appears to be in a panic today over Odesa. I think Russia is planning an airborne assault and landings as soon as this weekend. Russian collaborators in place already on the ground I think.

They will have to come on amphibious ships of which they only have a few serviceable ones remaining. There is no viable land route.

The ships will likely be destroyed long before they make landing, as they have to pass Snake Island under Ukraine control.

Looking forward, the AC-130W and J gunships...

As PIF has noted, the AC-130W has been retired.

The AC-130J is awesome.

Adding StormBreaker to it's arsenal would be great.

Even fully loaded, the AC-130J has plenty of power to add 6 StormBreakers, 3 on each wing.

airborne assault

airborne assault troops = food for Gepards.

Whats a few Ilyushin Il-76 and hundreds of troops? Just keep throwing the Ilyushin Il-76s and troops into the grinder until there are no more Ilyushin Il-76s

Collaborators in place. Just like what happened in Kherson at the beginning of the invasion.

The remnants of the Black Sea fleet (flotilla) en route. NATO rushed multiple ISR aircraft to the western Black Sea a few hours ago. The most since the beginning of the invasion. NATO seems to have been caught off guard.

Hopefully, Ukraine has deployed a Patriot battery and medium/short range surface to air assets, including the newly arrived HAWKs, to the Odesa area.

This could be a false flag to force Ukraine to deploy assets away from the southern front.
