Ruger GP 100 6” in .22 is Worth It!
Just getting it broke In.
It’s a better shot than me.
I have a H&R revolver set up the same way 6 shot 6 inch barrel. I keep the 22 mag cylinder in it. In my desk right now about 6 inches from my hand. Sometimes carry it in car.
22 Long?
Purchased recently, or old stock?
I haven’t seen any for sale for, say, 50 years.
No doubt, but quite a bit more than I’m willing to shell out.
I have a Smith and Wesson Model 617 10 shot 22LR revolver that is wonderful. It’s based on the Model 686 357 6 shot revolver (looks, sights, weight and action/feel) and I shoot it all the time in my basement for practice on the 686. I shoot Aguila Colibri (primer only) loads in it and it is as quiet as one of my suppressed 22LR Beretta Model 87s.
Where and why are you buying .22 long? That’s obsolete.
I’ve got a couple of .22 Heritage revolvers, a Barkeep and a Rough Rider. Both of them a lot of fun to shoot. And both have removable barrels so I can switch from .22 LR to .22 WMR.
I have the MKII 5 inch stainless with bull barrel. It’s the bees knees.
Years ago by accident.
Probably a several years old. Maybe as many as twenty.
I have a Winchester Model 61 pump 22 rifle. That I inherited from my father. It is probably from the late 1950s.
So, I always bought 22 Longs for that.
It will shoot in almost and .22LR rifle.
Winchester 9422
Marlin
Etc!!
It was surprising to see Smith & Wesson produced only a bit more than ten thousand .22 revolvers.

One of the mass-market beauties of the 22LR format is its simplicity, and therefore its affordability. Smith and Wesson is not as affordable to as many people.
Rule of .22 caliber (non-magnum) thumb is, if it has an extractor then shoot the specified caliber. If not then follow the rules, but it might shoot shorter calibers. Your mileage may vary.
“if it has an extractor then shoot the specified caliber”
My H&R has an ejector rod. I have shot 22 Short, Long and Long Rifle with no problem.
Have also shot 22 Rat Shot with no problem, but certainly I clean the barrel after rat shot.
I’ve seen it said if you practice with a double action revolver alot that it will improve your single action shooting.
.
Lite strikes on .22s are a good reason for a strong trigger,so I’ll love my Ruger
All the more !
Nice...
What model?
.
Oh ...I Zoomed in !
Ha
Bkmk
CCI Mini Mag is a good choice of rimfire ammo.
Now the next step up, 22 WMR (45 grain).
The 22 magnums must not be neglected.
I don’t know much about 22 revolvers, but this is a great 22 mag critical
