I wonder how much is to blame on government creating “artificial behavioral sinks”.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavioral_sink
Though originally meant as an experiment in overpopulation, its dynamics are substantially different with humans instead of rats and mice. For example, Hong Kong has a population density of 17,311 people per square mile, yet can feel uncrowded. But it has a very low birthrate.
Yet areas with a much lower population density can feel much more crowded, and show the effects of population stress as did the rats and mice, and most of this stress is caused by both government inaction and overreaction.
And this includes anti-human propaganda, that is, trying to convince people that where they live is overpopulated.
“...most of this stress is caused by both government inaction and overreaction.”
Not in the US. With the disppearance of Roe at the federal level, it has been relegated to the states and even at the level where it has been moved to for determination there are only 11 gubernatorial offices on the ballot in 2024. These elections are in Delaware, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, and West Virginia.
If it was going to be a topic of campaigning, that’s where it would be. But the feds are trying like crazy to regain control and are using it as one of the two topics for the federal level platform. The other being Trump’s situation they have lied on more than a Persion rug.
It may be a topic for local discussion, but it isn’t national or international. That’s the fed’s job and they aren’t playing. I do 20 topics on my freeper boards and 5 of them on the list today wer3e about abortion. So one quarter of every topic we do was about something that had nothing to do with another state and especially the feds. For God’s sake let’s talk about topics important to our situation:
The southern boarder’s delayed problems that are surface, inflation and costs, our state govenments not creating and supporting law enforcement to protect us as crime rises, overtaxing at the state level, infastructure ignoring, homeless invading...
The rest of the list is a lot bigger than letting abortion back into the liberal platforms as they are not part of the decisions for it anymore. The list is far bigger than that. Be pertinent.
