Tangent: Willie Brown, Speaker of the Assembly, was the King of California. Modestly leftist, maybe a bit corrupt, but the state was reasonably well run. Getting rid of him was a key reason term limits were approved by the voters in 1990, and I voted in favor. I regret it. Operation of term limits has caused farther and farther left rats being the ones eligible to be elected. I’d have his rule instead of what we have now in a heartbeat
