The U.S. Senate voted June 5 to block the so-called “Right to Contraception Act,” which supporters said would protect women’s access to contraception. But conservatives say the bill would actually go much further and is part of a continuing campaign that Sen. Katie Britt (R-Alabama) called a “summer of scare tactics” being pushed by Democrats.
Conservative leaders pointed out that the bill’s vague wording could clear the way for minors to undergo transgender surgeries, as well as receive puberty blockers and procure abortions. The bill’s text reads, in part, that it is designed “to protect an individual’s ability to make decisions about their body, medical care, family, and life’s course.”
It also includes a loose definition of contraception, stating that it is “any drug, device, or biological product intended for use in the prevention of pregnancy, whether specifically intended to prevent pregnancy or for other health need.”

A memo from their director reportedly orders U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to take extreme measures to instruct illegal aliens on how to obtain asylum – and expands qualification criteria to the point that any illegal alien can easily do so.
The ICE officers are instructed to install signs and videos – with translations available in more than two dozen languages – telling illegal aliens what to say in order to gain asylum, in an email obtained and detailed by The New York Post:
“Instructions from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting director Patrick J. Lechleitner to his team includes the installation of signs seemingly instructing migrants what to say to qualify for asylum.”
“There also must be a video ‘explaining to noncitizens that they should raise these concerns’ that ‘should be played on a loop.’ ‘The videos must be played in in-processing areas,’ the email reads.”
The signs provide illegal aliens with a list of things they can claim, such as being “hungry or thirsty,” that will ensure that they’ll be referred to an asylum officer and their “claim will be heard.”
OBSERVATION - Stating the obvious - biden et al wants to anchor as many illegals here in the US as possible to thwart the deportations Trump is announcing.

Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to repackage long-standing, tired threats about direct confrontation with the West by claiming that Russia will provide long-range strike capabilities to unspecified actors for strikes against the West.

Outlook —
Still more rumblings concerning Ukraine successful counter attacks in the Kharkiv region as well as devastating defensive fights around Chaziv Yar. The high water mark of the Russian offensive has been reached and beginning to ebb.
Interesting to see if Russia really did send missile boats out to sea. Ukraine drone boats and aircraft have been able to essentially own the waters. This may signal a degree of desperation by Russia to try to get this asset back into the fight after being silent for most of the year.

The 53rd iteration of NATO’s Baltic Operations series of exercises is set to be the alliance’s largest amid the inclusion of new members and security concerns with Russia. Thirty warships from 20 nations have assembled over the past week at Klaipėda in Lithuania in preparation for NATO’s premier annual naval exercise in the Baltic Sea. Between June 7-20, four amphibious task groups and multinational task units composed of more than 50 vessels, 25 aircraft and 9,000 personnel from Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Türkiye, the United Kingdom and the United States will participate in various maritime drills around the region.
Activities planned include antisubmarine warfare, gunnery drills, amphibious operations, mine clearing and medical responses.

Eyes on the build up towards Israeli operations against Hezbollah. biden trying to dampen that action with warnings that Iran might get involved. At this stage, I’m not sure just what iran would be capable of doing. It is still in the midst of political/religious wrangling over a new president and still stinging from the disastrous rocket/drone strike attempt on Israel. Any effort to bring military forces into the region via Syria would see devastating interdiction before they even got to the Israeli border.
Iran still has the capability to close down the Straits of Hormuz but would face severe global pushback and likely devastation of a significant portion of its naval assets in the region.

Yesterday, work crews installed”anti-scaling” riot fencing around the entire perimeter of the White House. This is believed to be in anticipation of the “Surround the White House” protest scheduled for today.
Advocacy and activist groups like CODEPINK and the Council on American Islamic Relations said on Friday that demonstrations were planned on Saturday, marking eight months of Israel’s war in Gaza that has killed tens of thousands while causing a humanitarian crisis with widespread hunger and destruction.

OBSERVATION - He is the latest Democrat to suggest that “MAGA” supporters be carted off for “reprogramming” (likely inferring to re-education camps). Yesterday I posted sentiments from Paula Collins, who is running unopposed in the June 25 Democratic primary, trying to unseat Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in New York’s 21st Congressional District echoing the same.
These aren’t the “fringe” of the Democrat party, this is the core of the party today. They join the likes of Hillary Clinton, Katie Couric, and Wapo columnist, Eugene Robinson, among many. They are telling us of their plans openly.
They will not willingly release the power they have gotten their hands on.
Economy-
The U.S. economy added far more jobs than expected in May, countering fears of a slowdown in the labor market and likely reducing the Federal Reserve’s impetus to lower interest rates.
Nonfarm payrolls expanded by 272,000 for the month, up from 165,000 in April and well ahead of the Dow Jones consensus estimate for 190,000, the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
Previous months’ reports saw small revisions: The March gain dropped to 310,000, down 5,000, while April’s saw a cut of 10,000 to 165,000.
On the flip side -
4% unemployment rate - risen yet again for the third consecutive month in a row, hitting four percent across the US. This marks the first time that unemployment reached that point since January 2022 in the second year of Joe Biden’s presidency.

Labor Force Participation Rate falls to 62.5%
Per the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), a large portion of the jobs that were added in May consisted of 68,000 added in healthcare, 43,000 added in government jobs, and leisure and hospitality increased by 42,000 jobs. Most other industries did not see as large of a bump and employment “showed little or no change over the month in other major industries, including mining, quarrying, and oil and gas extraction; construction; manufacturing; wholesale trade; transportation and warehousing; information; financial activities; and other services.”
Of those jobs added to the workforce, only 81,400 were from private production and nonsupervisory employees, translating to that the majority of jobs added to the economy are not blue-collar jobs, or part of the “typical worker” in the US labor force, as defined by the Economic Policy Institute and usually accounts for 80 percent of the labor force. The stat may seem to be in contrast with Biden’s pitch to blue-collar Americans that work is readily available for them in the private sector.
The BLS revealed that around 133.3 million people in the United States had full-time jobs in May, which was 625,000 less than the month before. However, the number of people having part-time jobs surged by 286,000 to just over 28 million.
As a result of the loss of part-time jobs to 161 million, the total number of American workers collapsed by 408,000.
It was also discovered that the number of foreign-born workers employed in the U.S. skyrocketed last month, rising by 637,000 for the year to nearly 32 million, while native-born workers declined by almost 300,000.

All of the headlines say that the US economy added 272,000 jobs in May.
However, when you dig deeper into the data you can see that full-time employment actually FELL by -625,000.
Meanwhile, part-time employment rose by 286,000 along with the unemployment rate to 4.0%.
This is the biggest drop in full-time employment since December 2023.
It’s also the first month with 4.0%+ unemployment since February 2022.
How is this a “strong” labor market?”
OBSERVATION - At this stage of the election cycle, these numbers are pretty well cooked up. An increasing unemployment rate versus a “robust” economy, huh? As Kobeissi states - things are not adding up here.
Wuhan and other “new” Plandemics –
The 9th Circuit just stripped mRNA shots of legal liability protection saying it’s not a vaccine if the claim isn’t to prevent the spread of the disease.
COVID shots were claimed to “reduce symptoms” and prevent hospitalization. Those claims make it a treatment. NOTE - This standard was progressively downgraded from prevent to ‘reduce symptoms’ over time by the CDC et al, inclusive with a complete redefinition of what the term “vaccine” meant.
This ruling that the Covid-19 vaccine was not a vaccine, only a medical treatment that employers (and the govt) could not mandate has opened wide the legal challenges to those who mandated it as well as Pfizer and Moderna.

“Today, the Court became aware of a comment that was posted on the Unified Court System’s public Facebook page and which I now bring to your attention,” Judge Juan Merchan shared in a letter to Trump’s attorneys and prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office.
“In the comment, the user, ‘Michael Anderson,’ states: ‘My cousin is a juror and says Trump is getting convicted… Thank you folks for all your hard work!!! ….’” Merchan wrote.
OBSERVATION - If true, the case must automatically be thrown out. Intense speculation since its release, apparently the heads up came from higher courts to Merchan - implying that they did some verification of the message before forwarding. Others are claiming the poster is merely a troll. Others speculating on if this is some ploy by Merchan to dodge accountability for how he ran the trial, etc. Specific note - the jurors were not sequestered and had plenty of opportunity to interact with others outside the court room. That, combined with the overwhelming bias of the jury pool against Trump, there is high probability that this event is real.

Recent commentary and statements by putin indicate he is prepared for a long war of attrition against Ukraine. He is betting his country’s larger population and his will against western support of Ukraine, believing that the west lacks the commitment to go the long run.

Outlook —
Little open reporting on the status of fighting along the many fronts in Eastern Ukraine. Most of the reporting is coming from monitored Russian milbloggers, RU telegraph channels and Ukrainian equivalents. So there is a lot of incomplete and in some cases incorrect information out there.
What is discernible is that Ukraine is gaining the initiative in the Kharkiv region and that Russia appears to be shifting units from fighting further south to the area to try to secure the gains that it has made.
What is also discernible is that efforts to capture places like Chaziv Yar have stalled out and Russian forces are shifting laterally to try to find another way around these strongholds.
What is also discernible is that Russia is increasingly reliant on unarmored vehicles to conduct their meat attacks, including using essentially ATVs, golf carts and motorcycles to get troops to their jump off points.
Rearmed Ukraine forces are increasingly destroying Russian logistic supports to the front.
How successful either side is at this stage is not clear, but what is clear is that the situation is changing in one way or anther.

First, a warehouse in east London being used to supply aid to Ukraine burned down. Weeks later, an Ikea in Vilnius, Lithuania, mysteriously caught fire.
Swedish investigators were already looking into the possibility that several railway derailments could have been caused by a state-backed saboteur.
Then an inferno engulfed the largest shopping centre in Warsaw, Poland’s capital. It was Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, who began joining the dots to suggest the West was under attack by Russian espionage.
“We are examining the threads – they are quite likely – that the Russian services had something to do with the Marywilska fire,” he said last month.
His claims were further bolstered when a former Russian soldier was arrested north of Paris this week after explosives detonated in his hotel room.
Warnings from European intelligence agencies that Russia is plotting acts of sabotage on the Continent in its escalation of the stand-off with the Nato military alliance have been thrust into the limelight.
An intelligence assessment shared with Western governments claims that Russia’s notorious GRU military intelligence agency, known for its attacks on foreign soil using highly trained agents, is now turning to criminal gangs to carry out attacks in Europe.

Four Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas from the Nova music festival during the group’s 7 October attacks have been rescued, Israel’s army has announced.
Those rescued are Noa Argamani, 25, Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrei Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40, the Israel Defense Forces said.
They were rescued in a joint “complex” daytime operation, conducted with Israel Security Agency and Israel Police, from two separate locations in Nuseirat, central Gaza, the IDF said.
They are in good medical condition and have been transferred to the ‘Sheba’ Tel-HaShomer Medical Center for further medical examinations, the IDF said.

The rescue of live hostages is a ray of hope. But notice that Hamas continues to use generally shielded areas - such as a refugee camp - to hold hostages, just like they continue to use schools and hospitals to launch military operations from. One knows darn well those ‘innocent’ Gazans knew full well hostages were being held in their midsts and supported the fact. Of course, the UN is silent on this as well.
Israel’s intelligence system is incredible in that they produce accurate and timely actionable intelligence. The success of the hostage rescue is a credit to that fact. I hope the rescue brought more intel on where other hostages are being held.
IDF has fully secured the Philadelphia corridor to the Med, effectively isolating Hamas from resupply from or escape to Egypt. Many reports of the progress of the fight in Rafah are wrapped in layers of OPSEC, but IDF is progressing thru the town and Hamas is taking heavy casualties by death and surrender.
Houthi have been far quieter than at the start of the Gaza war. This is either due to the reduction in potential targets or the effectiveness of defensive fire and air strikes on its facilities.
