Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russia's permanent representative in Vienna has called Finland the first victim in case of Russia's war with NATO.

In case of military escalation between Russia and NATO, #Finland, which joined the military bloc after the outbreak of war in #Ukraine, will be the first of the North Atlantic Alliance countries to suffer, said Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna.

"They lived quietly, peacefully and suddenly found themselves between #Russia and #NATO, as an integral part of the alliance, but they are neighbors with us, and God forbid, if any aggravation, Finland will suffer first of all," Ulyanov said.

Finland has been preparing for a conflict with Russia for the past 50 years. If Russia attacks Finland, it will be a nightmare for Russia.

Finland is ready!🇫🇮

#Ukraine's economy counter offensive. Despite Putin's barbarous invasion, this year Ukraine's economy saw almost 5% Gross domestic product growth. Our economy not only didn't fall but grew at a pace no one expected," Yulia Svyrydenko - economy minister.

IMPROVISE & ADAPT: Ukraine's ‘Franken SAMs’ are hybrid UKR air defense systems utilizing legacy Russian launch vehicles retrofitted to fire western anti-aircraft missiles. In this case, a Buk-M1 launcher has been configured to fire US RIM-7 ‘Sea Sparrow’ missiles.

https://twitter.com/ChuckPfarrer/status/1740414003044573287

The RIM-7 is a semi-active radar missile.

Most likely, the RIM-7 firmware is modified to tell the missile the radar frequency range to search for after launch.

You can see the FPV drone approach from the lower left. Whatever they were carrying, the drone’s warhead set it off. These small, cheap drones are going to present huge problems to any force in the future. The first time I saw a photo of a Ukrainian FPV drone with an RPG HEAT warhead strapped to it, I thought it had to be a joke. Wait until they are AI controlled and attack over wide areas in swarms.

Apparently we have also built a “Franken SAM” system around the AIM-9M, and a few months ago we were testing Patriot PAC-2 Missiles with Ukrainian S-300 batteries. This would be a huge help, since Ukraine has numerous S-300 batteries but few S-300 missiles.

NATO’s reliance on air and sea power over air defense and shore based long range strike/anti-ship missiles continues to limit the weapons we can (are willing to) provide.

“Putin Forced to Relocate Ships in Crimea After Ukraine Strikes”

“Drone and missile attacks are enabling Ukraine to overcome Russian naval dominance in the Black Sea.”

“Russia has based its Black Sea fleet in Crimea for 240 years. Now President Vladimir Putin is at risk of losing the flagship naval hub as Ukraine steps up attacks in the occupied peninsula.

The assaults have forced Russia to move its ships further from harm’s way, almost a decade after Putin annexed Crimea with the goal of preserving the fleet’s presence there as Kyiv drew closer to the US and Europe.

“No Crimean port is safe any more for Russian warships,” said Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies in Moscow. Ukraine has “basically ejected the fleet from Crimea.””

“Its latest attack by a cruise missile claimed a large Russian landing ship at the eastern Crimean port of Feodosia on Tuesday. In all, Russia has lost at least 20 vessels including warships, a submarine and landing craft since Putin ordered the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and independent assessments by the open-source intelligence outlet Oryx.”

110 cruise missiles launched most shot down. Civilian dead and wounded. Largest missile attack of the war. No missiles launched from the Black Sea fleet. Not an effective strike relative to the number of missiles launched.

Was expecting this, still pisses me off that US alone has 50 patriot systems, Germany I think 15 and there may be 3 there now.

As a side note, here is an example of vaunted Russian GDP in action. I am sure those living in non ethnic western Russia appreciate their living standards so as mother Russia can produce such “economic” activity

None. when the temp goes below freezing. Just like other battery powered items in cold weather.
