Hoft is a moron. If you believe what he is saying, you don’t know how the system works. The fact that the judge already ruled against Trump is no secret, or shock, or surprise. This follows the same, “no jury” crap. I guess Hoft needed some clicks on a Sunday morning. Agreed. In New York, cases in equity fall under the rubric of nonjury (bench) trials. Also, motions for summary judgement or partial summary judgment are common.

Nice to read the opinions of that smart lawyer from Canada. Great to see intelligent men of the legal profession speaking out.
But what are the United States? How many of the 1 million U.S. lawyers are speaking out about his travesty of justice?

grounds for a mistrial right here.
of course, President Trump couldn’t get a fair trial in any blue district.

So, I guess all we have to do is find a corrupt judge that will find Hunter and joey and Nancy et al “guilty before the trial begins”. Remember the dems have set the rules. This would NOT be retribution just following their lead. Not “going after” them just doing unto them what they have done to repubs.

You didn’t even bother going to the site. If you had, you wouldn’t have made that comment. Instead, you chose to show the world that it’s not only liberals who say things without checking facts first

What does Hoff have to do with it? He linked to Bloomberg. Posted videos of other lawyers. Most GP stories are linked from other sites.
Why do some people want stories hidden?

The Trump family built their wealth doing business in NY. Me, I am in the process of selling my NY business and moving someplace warm to retire.
To: Labyrinthos
Come to Florida. You are on FR so you won’t likely bring NY politics with you.

The justice system is incredibly flawed. It's all about the mechanics (e.g. procedures, motions, precedent - irrespective of if it is blemished) etc. The system isn't designed to find the truth, and it is not designed to protect the innocent. It's designed to impart enormous flexibility and subjectivity that can be exploited massively - and is.
We need legal reform in the US - comprehensive legal reform. The manner in which data comes in to courts needs to be entirely restructured. It should not be possible for an attorney for either the prosecution/plaintiff or defense/defendant to steer the narrative by limiting the ability of a plaintiff or a defendant to verbally convey their complete and entire truth.
Also, the ability for people to use the courts as a way to punish people financially by forcing them to spend enormous legal fees to defend themselves has to stop. Legal costs are completely out of hand. Perhaps we should have a Medicare-like legal insurance that allows people to defend themselves without being ruined financially, and that caps hourly attorney rates.

We are moving to AZ where our votes may still make a difference on the state and local levels. (Our children and grandchildren also live in the southwest.)

Click on the options menu in the upper right corner of the document frame and a link to the PDF should appear.
