This is what I would recommend for the Princess. She’s obviously more frightened than she’s letting on (dogs do that) and this would help to ease her fears.

I couldn’t afford a thundershirt for Jocko, but what I did have was a small, flexible carrier. He got so that at the first indication of a thunder storm, he would head for that carrier and wait for me to zip him into it. It was too small for him, but it was a life-saver in a T-storm!

You may be able to find one cheaper than this site, but the principle is the same.

Yes, I agree that Thundershirts work very well... we used to have a larger dog that was like night and day wearing the Thundershirt vs. not...
