I’m paying just over $1000+ every six months for two cars... liability only. My 18 year old daughter is now on the policy so that made it go up, of course.

I got lucky in that regard.

My daughter went away to college at 16 and didn’t get a driver’s license until she was 18. She only came home for about 2 weeks in the summer the rest of time she traveled. I had a discussion with my insurance agent and said there was no reason for her to be on my policy that she should be considered a guest since she was not living there. State Farm conceded my point so that I never had to put her on the policy. She lived in urban areas with mass transit until she was about 24 when she bought her first car
