Why do police feel they can lie to the public. Nothing says Im an Orwellian Jack boot more than lying to the public.

Captain Earwood: So, We have confirmed that the sidewalk is part of the Alamodome property.

CJ: Nope. You haven’t confirmed that. ‘Cause I already looked at the GIS survey. This is a public sidewalk.

Captain Earwood: Ok.

It's the law. The cops/feds/etc can lie to you any time, anywhere, about anything, for any reason or for no reason at all. Lying to them is a crime.

Is there really any such thing as a "good cop"?

Someone local should consider making a formal complaint on that point to all and sundry - city council, mayor, chief of police, whoever certifies police officers in TX, the AG (Paxton? Do I have the name right?), etc.
