The best way to approach this is to think about how many Israeli soldiers will die due to the cease fire as Hamas has time time to recoup verses continuing the war without a ceasefire. Any ceasefire enhances Hamas. War destroys Hamas.
I vote for war and pray for the hostages. May Israel have no mercy except for the innocent. If Hamas puts the innocent in danger that is death by their action.
It should be noted that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were of some military importance but not much. We burned them to the ground with nuclear bombs with great civilian losses. It worked. Japan surrendered and thus preventing a couple of million American casualties and many more millions of Japanese deaths. We had absolute superiority in the air. We had total control of the sea. We had burned Tokyo to embers. Without the atomic bomb Japan would have fought on.
We would have won with great loss of life. Japan would no longer have existed to to starvation and disease and fire bombing. The made a wise choice to surrender.

My uncle now sadly passed was a navigator on B29s that bombed Japan. He was the most important man on the plane. He had to navigate across thousand of miles of ocean to target and a small island to return. It was all star and sun shots for navigation.
