Our next caller is from East of the Rockies. Welcome back, lee martell, good to hear from you again.

George Noory on Coast to Coast am.

All in good fun. 😁
I listen once in a while. Good shows when the topics are good.

One of my favorite early 1960s Jonathan Winters record routines of farmer Elwood P. Suggins being interviewed.
“So you saw a flying saucer land, sir?”
“Yep, in muh wheat field.”
“Was that a shock to you?”
“No, I’ve seen over five hundred of ‘em land in muh wheat field.”
“Goodness. Does anybody get out of them? Do they say anything to you?”
“Yep. Things like take me to your leader.”
“What did you say?”
“Not much. I didn’t know who muh leader was.”

Jonathan Winters was a terrific storyteller and on the spot mimic. The public only got to know a small part of the man.
I have read that he was a very complex individual. Jonathan had his dark side, similar to Robin Williams.

Even with his bouts of depression, I think the award for
“Crabbiest Professional Comedian of early TV would still go to Milton Beryl. Milton didn’t even try to hide his utter contempt for most people, especially his devoted fans.
