Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis asked a judge on Friday to schedule the trial in the case against Donald Trump in Georgia for Aug. 5, which would temporarily sideline the former president and leading GOP presidential candidate from the campaign trail at the height of election season.
Willis, who is prosecuting Trump and 18 co-defendants over allegations they illegally conspired to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia, said in a court filing that her requested trial date "balances potential delays from other pending criminal trials with the Defendantsâ speedy trial rights."

Where is the lawsuit from the RNC or someone so eventually it will get to the Supreme Court? Supreme Court cannot do anything until they have that lawsuit in their hands.
That dude is an utter shtbag who should be removed and disbarred, he is corrupt as hell. He made the decision to mandate the people buy a companies product - health insurance - which is unconstitutional as hell and right there should have ended his career.
Maybe she thinks that if he doesn't attend, he cannot formally accept the nomination and that will keep him off of the general election ballot?

The left still claims the Russia interference was a real threat that helped Trump win and warranted them spying on Trump and investigating him.
Cato Institute, Wikipedia, MSNBC, and factcheck.org, etc. still try to paint Trump as a criminal who got away with stuff rather than a victim of conspiracy.
