“1/ The deaths of crew members of the Russian submarine ‘Rostov na Donu’, destroyed in a Ukrainian missile strike on 13 September, has reportedly become the subject of a scandal after relatives were denied compensation and the dead had to be buried at their comrades’ expense.
/ Ukrainian Storm Shadow cruise missiles caused catastrophic damage to two vessels, the landing ship Minsk and the Kilo-class submarine Rostov-na-Donu, which were both docked and undergoing repairs in Sevastopol. It appears that many crew were aboard at the time of the attack.
/ While the Russian authorities have sought to conceal the number of casualties, VChK-OGPU reports that three submariners were killed in the attack and another casualty was taken to the Burdenko National Medical Research Centre for Neurosurgery in Moscow.
/ According to VChK-OGPU, “Many crew members managed to save themselves [from the attack], including the captain of the ship Igor Shveda. They decided to make the latter into a scapegoat and let all the dogs loose on him.”
/ The crew of the Rostov-na-Donu are reportedly not classed as participants in the war and relatives of the dead have not received the millions of rubles they are entitled to as compensation. A charity fundraiser was held to raise money to help them.
/ VChK-OGPU reports: “The command somehow found out that the commander of the Rostov wrote a letter of gratitude to those who managed to collect about 1.5 million rubles [$16,866] and give it to the families of the dead sailors.
/ “Following the emergency, during a meeting on the Aerospace Forces, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Viktor Sokolov, publicly accused Igor Shveda of standing with his hand outstretched.
/ “At the same time, at that time, none of the crew was listed as a participant in the Special Military Operation, and equally, the relatives of the victims did not have the opportunity to receive significant compensation.”
/ A “large number of crew members and military personnel” were reportedly killed in the strike on the Minsk, which was in the neighbouring dock, but details are not yet clear. /end”

““Sad” story about Russian mechanised assault on positions of Ukrainian 14th Mechanised Brigade. Two Russian BMPs and tank tried to attack on Kupyansk direction. BMP and tank were destroyed by Javelins and another BMP blew up on a anti-tank mine.”
