Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available

Not so fast.

⚡️🇺🇦 Ukrainian pilots have not yet started training in 🇹🇩 Romania on the F-16, said the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The training center is still being prepared there, Yuriy Ignat explained.

No training starts in Romania. Regarding the center: sometimes the statements of foreign partners need to be considered from a different angle. The Netherlands handed over 5 planes. They transferred the first batch to the future center, which is being formed, which is being built, the foundation has just been poured there, as far as I know. There is an airstrip there, but so far there is no talk of training Ukrainian pilots, he said

It will take several months to stand up the training center.

Looks a bit toasty.

“Forest area in Malokakhovka. Russians show how one of their postions was covered and several pieces and equipment were destroyed.”

Your message is always the same - hate, disdain, mocking, but nothing new or original to contribute. Just a typical Russian booster

It’s strongman fetishizing. They’ve invested so much in the Tin Pot Czar and a fantasy world that they can never admit how wrong they are.

“GOP’s Johnson Turns to Democrats to Pass Plan to Avert Shutdown“

“ House Speaker Mike Johnson is counting on Democrats to overcome misgivings and approve his proposal to avert a US government shutdown.

The Republican leader plans a vote Tuesday on his temporary funding proposal under a procedure that requires a two-thirds majority, a threshold he can only meet with support from a large number of Democratic lawmakers.

The scenario is similar to the one earlier this fall that while avoiding a shutdown, led to the ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy.”

As Cargo Flights Leave Kaliningrad, Air Defence Systems Disappear

“From this [ low-res ] imagery, it appears plausible that air defence systems at locations A (northern battery) and B may account for at least some of the increase in heavy military cargo flights going in and out of Kaliningrad.

“However, this can not be determined for certain and the contents of these flights cannot be determined without additional information.”

In short, the AD systems may or may not have disappeared/moved. Evidence inconclusive.

I figured FtrPilot would make note of the claim and fill us in if it amounts to anything.

“As Cargo Flights Leave Kaliningrad”

Previously, ground combat units based in Kaliningrad have been rotated to the Ukraine (and chewed up badly).

Because Kaliningrad is surrounded, any war plan would have to prepare for a siege, with stockpiled supplies. I would not be surprised (kind of expect) that they have to tap a lot of those stockpiles now, for all sorts of shortages in the Ukraine. Artillery shell resupply could require a lot of airlift, but they are probably pulling everything they need.

Maybe the losses in Avdiivka caused them to suddenly accept more risk in Kaliningrad, or maybe availability of essential supplies and equipment got so low, that it just reached Kaliningrad on the priority list. They probably have to pull their horns in and accept risk everywhere, to keep such a flow of hardware and supplies into the Ukrainian meatgrinder.

The two S-400s they indicated (as possibly pulled from Kaliningrad) looked like backups/second layer,, behind the ones around the border, so they would not be sacrificing any blind spots in coverage.

They seem to be the rational ones to pull, if you have to accept more risk.

FTA: Users on X suggested that the cargo could contain S-400 missile systems bound for Rostov-on-Don after recent Ukrainian strikes using long-distance ATACMS missiles damaged Russian air defenses in the occupied Luhansk region.

The S-300/S-400 radars are used for Early Warning for the medium and short range surface to air systems.

Ukraine has been very successful attacking the forward deployed S-300/S-400 systems.

It will be interesting to see where the replacement systems are deployed to.

My guess is barely across the border.
