I thought Noah’s ark was shaped different than that.

Well exactly... Noah’s ark was designed to float and hold a lot of animals and 8 people. It was not designed to go from point A to point B in the water. It’s not called Noah’s boat or Noah’s ship.

I imagine it looked more like a flatboat, and after the water receded it would have been dismantled for housing, pens, firewood.
