Are you assumung that Dr. Bashir (Muslim name) isn’t Muslim? He is even played by a Sudanese British Muslim “Alexander Siddig”. That’s short for Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abdurrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi. Anyone who knows Sudan’s history knows that famuly name. His great-great-grandfather is Muhammad Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Fahal, aka the Mahdi of the Mahdist uprising against the British and Egypt.
