"Bombshell" publications in the Russian media refer to the failure of the Israeli Army's ground operation in Gaza. The Russians report that the Israeli Army will not achieve the goals it has set while suffering significant losses.

The worst-case scenario for Israel, and for the West, is to get bogged down in a war and then be attacked on other fronts with the risk of sliding into a regional war as WarNews247 reported yesterday .

Bump.

Israel is smart.

Bibi is committed.

What more could you ask for.

They have hurt Hezbollah. Quietly.

If they don’t back away, they will be destroyed too.

Think of this as negotiation.

Bibi’s first bid is we kill every last member of Hamas and raze Gaza to the ground.

He is not kidding one bit and he may just give the order, but he has a lot of room to maneuver and still be pretty hard core.

Agree. War is never a kind master.

It is not a personality contest.

It is seldom sane.

But there are times when it is the only option.

Bibi was a soldier when he was young. He “gets it”.

I’ve seen the Israeli military up close.
Gaza doesn’t stand a chance.

I don't disagree with this. An urban battle is one of the hardest to win. You're fighting in rubble. It's hand to hand. It's brutal. Lots of casualties.

You almost have to kill everyone to win.

Hamas knows it can count on liberal western media to slowly turn on Israel when this happens.

I’m thinking that in order to uproot Hamas, they’re gonna have to go in with infantry and clear those locations.

Which is why they should just bounce the rubble a few times. Those underground bunkers become tombs when the exits are all sealed.

24-hour drone scanning with infrared cameras will catch almost everybody who manages to escape the bunkers. Repeat artillery barrage on the entire grid square if such is detected.

Give it about two weeks and the risk to advancing Israeli troops is about as low as it can get. 95% of the remaining fighters will be immobilized or dead and most of the booby traps will have been destroyed by the artillery.

The IDF cannot afford to get tied down in Gaza or take any serious casualties there. They will soon be very busy dealing with attacks from Hezbollah in the north.

We have the 4 Missouri class ships (our last and best) in mothballs/museum status. The were initially decommissioned in the ‘50s, with the NJ (at least) brought back for Vietnam. At least 3 were brought back under Reagan, and one or two shelled the ever-living crap out of our Arab enemy of the day in Lebanon in the mid-’80s. One shell allegedly killed 30 Syrian generals in an “unpenetrable” bunker.

They could be brought back, but it would be expensive to do so, they would absorb a LOT of manpower to run, and they’re too slow to keep up with the carriers. They also burn oil, and are huge sitting ducks for missiles.

No one else has had a battleship for at least 60-70 years.
