If that's what ends up happening, Gaetz and the buffoons backing his tantrum deserve every last ounce of the anger and contempt they will get. The next Speaker better be more conservative than McCarthy - and we already established 8 months ago that no more conservative alternative was there. Whatever - it's Gaetz's problem. That putz blew it up, it's on him to put it back together better than it was before.
