Show more sharing options Tucked into a state Senate bill revising aspects of the Medical Board of California is a brief but unambiguous clause undoing a controversial law that was intended to curb “dissemination of misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19.”
If the bill passes as expected this week, it will put an end to the saga of Assembly Bill 2098, a well-intentioned, poorly worded and ultimately doomed effort to curb the most flagrant cases of COVID-related falsehoods by people wielding medical licenses.
“We are happy that the Legislature is attempting to address the defects in last year’s legislation,” said Chessie Thacher, a senior attorney with the ACLU of Northern California, which filed amicus briefs in four separate lawsuits related to AB 2098. “As we argued in court, that bill was dangerously overbroad and confusing.”

Everyone knows government is a lot more intelligent than Doctors ,LOL
Good thing all that didn’t ruin lives and screw folks up huh? 🖕🐂💨💩
For sure. We must be so grateful that the law was "well intentioned."
Can the doctors nurses, health care providers, pharmacists, home health aids etc etc etc all be compensated for the damage they e dured from an unjust law/mandate?
Well, I’m sure Deep Dtate considered it well-intentioned.
For them.
Note to the medical profession: There can be NO forgiveness WITHOUT repentance.
And the medical profession has yet to repent.

Hey amigo, I literally walked off the Job and told them to f@!*k themselves the day they told me I had to be vaxed or have my nose stabbed every two days.
Words that should live in infamy!
That's a difficult question to answer. The law came under immediate legal attack once it was signed into law. It's possible that not a lot of damage was done. My view of course is that if anyone suffered damages they should be compensated.
Well of course! In fact, Biden himself assured us that if we were vaccinated that we wouldn't get Covid. How could anyone possibly not believe that loveable old coot?
nurses were fired for not wanting the vaccine- Docs too i’d imagine- plus some docs and healthcare wrre let go- aND threatened with disbarment for their views on things like ivermectin, hcq, etc-
There are two different issues here though. You are correct that in the past, health care people were fired for not getting vaccinated. What this article refers to is that a law was passed wherein health care professionals could be punished for spreading “disinformation” about Covid. This is the law that was challenged and is now going to be repealed.
some were fired for ‘spreading misinformation’ (according to the lying left) and others were ostracized and likely suffered loss

The DNC talking point spewing media shill wrote "people wielding medical licenses" instead of doctors, which is what they are.
The bill was a massive violation of the 1st Amendment.
It sure was. But they'll try again.
