This does not surprise me.
Air-to-air gun shots are extremely difficult.
I believe the helicopters would not have LCOSS (Lead Computing Optical Sight System).
In most cases, when using a fixed reticle, the pilot should aim in front of the target and slightly below.
Most pilots aim in front of but slightly above...the bullets travel over the target.
