Stop. You have to jump right to an accusation that I've been brainwashed? How about "wrong"? Brainwashing implies that a person is incapable of changing their opinion on something when presented with opposing facts and opinions.

I concede on every point you made following that. But I find the accusation of being brainwashed to be disrespectful especially when I admitted at the outset that I might be way off. A person who is brainwashed doesn't say they may be "way off" about whatever their cause may be. I was practically inviting you to provide better info on the subject.

I don't understand it that way. Brainwashed people can realize they have been fed wrong or misleading information and thereby throw off their brainwashing.

I apologize for any perceived disrespect. I tend to get overzealous on this topic because this is the topic that actually led me to join Free Republic, which was about the only place on the internet that would allow discussion of this topic.

I've learned a lot more since i've been here than I knew before I joined, and I appreciate all the people who have researched this issue and shared what they have found.
