Oddly enough, despite the numbers reported in that piece, numbers generated by the Party, no one receives a cent.
There are no social services in China, except those reported by the Party for propaganda purposes - is no actual money is spend or changes hands. No pensions, no unemployment, no health care insurance.
Public health care is what one can afford to bribe medical people with. All procedures are written up in by the Party and followed rigorously.
The writer must have taken official CCP numbers and imagined they were actually real.
Don’t even get me started on housing in China, where all land is owned by the Party and rented out for a term of 70 years before reverting to the Party.
