Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
ORYX ^ | Since February 24, 2022 and daily | ORYX

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Calling someone a RuZZian on FR is considered an insult.
Calling someone a Comrade on FR is considered an insult.

Summarizing this war:

A tragedy for Ukraine.
A disaster for RuZZia.
A strategic win for the USA. The biggest winner of the war.

I anticipate attacks on Moscow and St. Petersburg to ramp up over the next year and be a daily occurrence.

Only a matter of time until the Kremlin is hit. Will it be in 2023? 2024? Or 2025?

Keep attacking until successful. Only need to be ‘lucky’ once.

[ Ukrainians Shoot Down Helicopters & Breach Russian Defense ]

••Day 540: Aug 17

Today there is a lot of good news from the Orikhiv direction.

Last time I told you that Ukrainians conducted a successful series of attacks east of Robotnye and managed to push Russians from their positions.

This turned out to be an instrumental move for capturing the settlement of Robotnye itself.

If we look at the topographic map, we can see that Ukrainians advanced along the valley.

However, even though, at first glance, Ukrainians were putting themselves in a disadvantageous position by moving into the lowlands, they set ideal conditions for the next attack.

As Russians were pushed out of the small forest, Ukrainians moved through the forest virtually to the eastern outskirts of Robotnye, and as this side of the forest stretches to the hills, Ukrainians established pretty decent fire control over the eastern part of the village, driving Russians away from the outer edge.

On top of that, as Ukrainians deepened their bridgehead and established control over the Russian trenches southeast of Robotnye, a crucial Russian supply line became very unsafe.

But apart from destroying enemy reinforcements, being so close to the supply lines also allows to collect a lot of important information.

This time, Ukrainians noticed that Russians were conducting a rotation of troops and took advantage of the temporary disarray and diminished control over the region.

Russian sources reported that when the Russians stepped back from the contact line, Ukrainians launched a reconnaissance-in-force operation, entered Robotnye from the north, and even reached the center of the village.

Geolocated footage shows that Russians were shelling Shevchenkiv Street in the middle of the settlement.

Russians tried to make a counterattack, but Ukrainian positions in the forest came in handy, as Russians immediately got in the crossfire and retreated.

Right now, each side controls around 35% of the village, while the rest is in the grey zone.

Recently, Russian forces were also pushed from at least one tree line west of the village completely and several more partially.

Given the limited ability of the Russian forces to use ground lines of communication to deliver supplies to the front and conduct rotation, it is unlikely that Russians will be able to hold this settlement for a long time.

Russian sources reported that the concentration of Ukrainian forces in the tree lines north of Robotnye is increasing, meaning that the next wave of attack may come very soon.

Russian sources also complained that Ukrainians are using Leopard tanks from a large distance, making them very difficult even to identify, let alone destroy.

Ukrainian fighters said that now they are mostly using Leopards as snipers for fire support.

This way, they can unleash rapid and devastating fire from multiple km away without the need for redundant exposure of the machine.

Based on the current dynamics, the analysts concluded that Ukrainians would likely attempt to create a salient and, if possible, take Russian troops in Robotnye into a pocket.

In an attempt to destroy Ukrainian heavy equipment used for these attacks, Russians brought helicopters Ka-52 into the region to eliminate the threat.

Russian sources reported that today in the morning, Ukrainians used un to 4 tanks and armored fighting vehicles, which is why they sent helicopters to hunt down.

Unfortunately for Russians, Ukrainian fighters from the 47th Brigade were ready to meet them and shot down one such helicopter.

This is already the 8th helicopter that the 47th Brigade has shot down around Robotnye.

This time, the fighters reportedly used the Swedish man-portable air defense system RBS 70.

Unlike regular man-portable air defense systems, RBS 70 uses a laser for aiming, which makes the discharge of false hear targets by the helicopter useless, and increases the chances of a successful shot significantly.

Moreover, the range of this system is noticeably bigger, which was the main reason why the Russian pilots found such an attack unexpected.

Mark Galeotti for The Spectator “Why the Kremlin sees Britain as the main gopnik”: The Kremlin has accused the UK of being behind the creation of a “death squad” operating in Africa, Russian state media say.

It is alleged that MI6 is involved in the creation of a “punitive subversive unit” consisting of Ukrainian nationalists and neo-Nazis and trained for operations in Africa.

An unnamed military-diplomatic source claims that London has asked the Ukrainian government for help in recruiting this unit. In response to this accusation, the SBU and the GUR of Ukraine, together with MI6 and SAS, selected at least one hundred veterans with combat experience, who will be commanded by Lieutenant Colonel V. Prashyuk.

It is expected that the detachment will go to Sudan, where it will carry out sabotage on key African infrastructure and kill African leaders who advocate cooperation with Russia.

This reflects Moscow’s desire to position itself as a friend of post-colonial Africa, as opposed to the fact that the former colonial powers are considered to have abandoned this continent. However, the report is considered highly implausible.

MI6 and the British government are distancing themselves from participation in death squads and foreign coups. Such operations are considered risky, counterproductive and leak-prone in today’s information age.

The open recruitment of foreign soldiers without secrecy or denial is contrary to common practice. These accusations are supposed to stem from the Kremlin’s vivid imagination, as seen in the recent claims by Putin’s allies about organ harvesting in Ukraine and the prevalence of “bio-mechanoids” in Europe.

The UK is often seen as a subtle and sinister force behind various threats to compensate for its perceived lack of military power compared to the US. Russia sees British influence on opposition leader Alexei Navalny, a “Revolution of Dignity” in Ukraine, and even drone attacks on Moscow and Crimea.

An attack on the UK can be seen as a safer way to indirectly attack the US using the concept of an “Anglo-Saxon” alliance. This narrative is also shaped by a complex historical legacy that includes rivalry and cooperation between Russia and the UK in various geopolitical contexts.

Despite the paradoxical relationship between Russia and the UK, in which warm admiration goes hand in hand with deep distrust, the fact that the UK occupies a prominent place in Russia’s geopolitical imagination testifies to the effectiveness of British intelligence agencies.

However, politically, this is an ambiguous blessing for the UK. Longstanding awareness of each other’s activities and aspirations dates back to early mercantile transactions and interactions between English merchants and Russian rulers.

The possibility of combining Russian land power with British naval potential had long intrigued the tsars.

Russians are both warm Anglophiles and deep Anglophobes, which is a paradoxical phenomenon unlike any other relationship.

Under these conditions, the fact that we continue to occupy such a significant place in their geopolitical imagination is both a merit of our still effective intelligence agencies and an ambiguous political blessing.

Officials say Politico:
The Biden administration has formally approved the transfer of F-16 training materials to Denmark, allowing Ukrainian pilots to start training earlier.

Politico:
According to two U.S. officials, the Biden administration has formally approved the transfer of F-16 training materials to Denmark, allowing Ukrainian pilots to begin training on the long-awaited fighter jets.

At the same time, according to a U.S. official and a State Department spokesman, this week the U.S. provided written assurances to Denmark and the Netherlands, promising to “expedite” the approval of all necessary requests for the transfer of aircraft so that they can be sent to the battlefield as soon as the pilots receive training in their use.

“In this way, Ukraine will be able to take full advantage of its new capabilities as soon as the first set of pilots complete their training,” said an official familiar with the text of the letter.

The decision to approve Denmark’s request for the transfer of training materials - instructions and simulators - is the last bureaucratic obstacle on the American side before the start of training.

Former Commander of US Ground Forces in Europe Ben Hodges on reports of downed Russian Ka-52 helicopter:

In a combat situation, when Ukrainian air defense is operating on the ground, why do Russian pilots fly at such a height?

This indicates either arrogance, or inexperience, or an inability to learn

Reuters: India is in confidential talks with Russia to secure the largest ever grain deal between the two countries - about 8-9 million tons of wheat worth $2 billion - and is demanding a very large discount.

“The government is exploring the possibility of importing through private trade and government-to-government transactions.

The decision will be made cautiously,” an Indian government source told Reuters. According to the publication, stocks of Indian wheat in government warehouses as of August 1 were 28.3 million tons, about 20% below the 10-year average.

Payment for the purchase of wheat, most likely, will be made in dollars, similar to transactions with Russian sunflower oil. An additional advantage of the deal will be protection against possible disruptions in the work of Russian Black Sea grain ports.

South China Morning Post: Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to develop partnership.

The purpose of the visit is to implement the key agreements reached at the state level and further strengthen bilateral military cooperation. Both countries have achieved fruitful results in the field of strategic cooperation, joint training and exercises.

Li stressed that the “brotherly” relations between China and Belarus are the basis for the development of military cooperation. Lukashenka said that Belarus, like China, stands for a multipolar world and territorial integrity.

He expressed gratitude for China’s support in the field of military-technical and military cooperation, especially during the period of global instability.

He noted that he is counting on Russia and China as friends and allies.

The Wall Street Journal: In recent years, Turkish companies such as Beks Ship Management have become key players in the global shipping of Russian oil.

Beks Ship Management alone purchased 37 vessels, including obsolete oil tankers, for over half a billion dollars, increasing the value of its fleet tenfold.

These Turkish companies are playing a critical role in Russia’s efforts to keep oil supplies around the world and finance the NWO.

Initially a small company, Beks Ship Management was founded by Turkish textile magnate Ali Bezmekci and has rapidly increased its fleet over the past two and a half years, acquiring 17 ships since 2022.

The company currently owns 41 vessels worth $782.61 million, according to the Veson Nautical consulting firm.

The company financed these acquisitions through banks in France, China, Japan, Taiwan and Australia, without raising funds from Russia.

Despite the fact that the company claims to carry out the necessary sanctions checks with the help of English lawyers, its vessels do not appear in the P&I database.

Instead, they rely on insurance at Lloyd’s and in European markets.

However, experts note that such alternative insurance is generally considered appropriate for less risky vessels, and it remains unclear whether it is sufficient for older tankers.

Despite warnings from the US Department of the Treasury and major shipping companies about price cap violations, Beks Ship Management and other Turkish shippers continue to ship oil from Russia’s Pacific coast.

In this way, Russia has been able to increase its share of the major oil markets, including China and India, which has changed the dynamics of the global energy supply.

Yesterday, a man resembling Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening of traffic on a new branch of the surface metro - the third Moscow Central Diameter.

This action took place at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manezh” as part of the exhibition “Year of the New Transport Framework” on the sidelines of the Moscow Urban Forum.

The presence of familiar and unfamiliar people at the event did not bother “Putin” at all, the only thing that went a little off plan was a hitch in proclaiming parting speeches by a double, when he strayed from topic to topic and at the end, having completely lost his train of thought, wished everyone best wishes.

The glossy face of the double and the “walking” cheekbones and poor-quality make-up traditionally didn’t bother anyone, and even Sobyanin, realizing that he was in front of an understudy, was visibly worried and openly fawned over him.

The double also held a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council on the development of public transport.

Understudy, who used shuttle buses and other types of public transport a few years ago, believed that he knew about the problems firsthand, so he held the meeting confidently and competently, naturally having previously familiarized himself with the selection of materials kindly provided to him the day before and was very surprised how everything changed during his absence from public transport.

The double generously promised a lot of new and good things, and listened to the speakers, leaving the reports practically without comment. At the end of the main events, the understudy complained about fatigue and went to rest.

Putin had a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi yesterday.

The President of Iran openly expressed dissatisfaction on a number of issues.

Among other things, Raisi is dissatisfied with the delay on the part of the Russian side of assistance in the implementation of Tehran’s “nuclear program” and the lack of adequate funding for several strategic projects in Iran on the part of the Russian leadership.

Putin stoically accepted the insolence of one of their last friends in the international arena and promised to be a good boy and continue to fulfill all his obligations, however, this game has been going on with varying success between the presidents of Russia and Iran for a long time and suits both.

Putin and Raisi are one of the last outcasts and are forced to support each other, not only because of profit, but also out of solidarity.
