Former Vice President Mike Pence got roasted online on Tuesday night after releasing a new campaign ad.
In an attempt to resonate with Americans over rising fuel prices, Pence was filmed supposedly filling up a pickup truck with gas. However, keen-eyed viewers quickly pointed out he failed to select the fuel grade and activate the gas pump lever.
Pence failed to select a gas type, and the pump continuously beeped in the background.

Putting the lame pumping of invisible gas aside, just WHO was it Mikey that gave us energy independence that you’re longing to go back to?? I think his initials are DJT and with all your backstabbing of him, you have the gall to use his success in your campaign. The Pence Energy Plan, yeah, okay Mikey, thought that up all on your own did ya?
Nearly everyone who posted in this thread and the Gateway Pundit appear to be so anxious to find something to say against the former VP, shows, to me, that they have no idea about how a commercial is made or whether the object of this one was to 1) show that Mr. Pence knows how to operate a gas pump by showing him from arriving in his truck, paying, selecting gas, filling, putting back the nozzle and then taking receipt and driving away; or was the point of the ad 2) to give him the scene to make his point about the rise in gas prices under the Biden administration?
It was nonsense and very, very weak.
Pick me and I’ll fix the problem by 2040 (years after I’m gone).
WTF? Trump did it in less than a single term and Pence with his “plan” expects us to vote for him to do it sometime almost 2 decades into the future? Is his supporter that gullible?
I wasn’t commenting on what he actually said, but that all of the posters didn’t get past insulting him for how the commercial was made. I’m glad that you actually focused on Pence’s statement. And I agree with you on that.
Some vehicles have a latch on the fuel door activated from inside. (I had an old Saturn like that) Not sure about this one.

Tells it all—He’s as fake as they come. Trump would never do this—he would openly say—”My Chauffer does that—I don’t like to get my hands dirty.” and it would ring true. “But, I get the gas bill and it stinks that I have to pay so much. Ever fill up a Limo? It isn’t cheap.”

In many newer vehicles one can release the fuel door from inside the cab, and it will spring open.
I doubt any of the candidates pump their own gas, anymore than they know the price of milk and eggs at the supermarket.
His problem was that his staff and the advertising people didn’t notice his mistake. Maybe they don’t pump their own gas either.
In any case, it won’t matter in New Jersey. Or is it Oregon where nobody is allowed to pump their own gas?
