“Ukraine getting over $200 billion in military aid from the U.S. and NATO”

So you are saying Ukraine is strong?

No, I am not saying the Ukraine is strong, I’m saying that they are wasting my tax money.

“MoscowTimes counted Russian armored vehicles stored in Vagzhanovo, Buryatia that were visible on Google Earth images and concluded that out of 3840 that were there before the war 1570 have disappeared from there, and around half of the rest appear non-repairable.”

We are well down the path of demolishing the old Soviet fleets and stockpiles - and the Russian economy.

If Putin can be propped up in office for another year, to keep grinding the Russian military and economy into dust, the job should be pretty much done (at these rates of destruction).

Then comes the deluge.

“No, I am not saying the Ukraine is strong”

Then why do they whip Russian forces so badly?

“While FIRMS isn’t the best way to track artillery missions, it appears something substantial has been ongoing all day across the Dnipro.

From Russians reporting multiple boat landings to a growing panic, this appears to be bigger than normal cross-river raids.”

“The results of the raid by the GUR special forces and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the left bank of Kherson region.

⚡️As a result of the actions of the Defense Forces, the Russian forces in that direction were forced to leave the settlement of Kozachi Laheri and the nearest strongholds.”

"Then why do they whip Russian forces so badly?"

You are delusional. Here are the facts as of today.

  1. Russia has held Crimea since 2014
  2. Russia has seized the ethnic Russian territories of the Ukraine
  3. Russia has seized the industrial heartland and the majority of the natural resources of the Ukraine
  4. 40% of the entire population of Ukraine has fled the country as refugees -and they probably are not coming back
  5. Russia has established air superiority over the bulk of the Ukraine
  6. Russia shoots five artillery shells for every one the Ukraine can fire off
  7. $200 billion in military aid from America and NATO countries has not made a difference

Sucks to be you.

That’s 20+km east of the landings near Oleshky. Nearby fortifications are west of Kozachi Laheri along the river’s edge. The forces here are in operational encirclement and correctly withdrew.

Russian troop formations in the area are the 7th Airborne Assault Division (VDK), 127th Separate Guards Coastal Defense Brigade, 205th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, BARS Kherson, and 2 artillery brigades and HQ 22nd Army Corps.

Earlier some reported the VDK was transferred to the southern front.

This is the quickest route to Crimea, if the UA can successfully get armor across the river in quantity.

Keep in mind the UA is not whipping the RGF’s collective butts. /s

Sounds like you have not been keeping up with “the facts”.

Those days are gone.

Guess which country now operates more tanks in the Ukraine?

I’ll give you two guesses, based on what I have seen about you so far.

Sorry bud, the increases in production of artillery shell for the Ukraine has come nowhere near being able to support Russia 5 to 1 advantage in shooting artillery. Production is slowly increasing, but even when they get to next year, it’s still won’t even be close.

Let them live there i for one will no longer respond that is what they want with their childish responses
Say 5-1
Or Putin 400 Ukrainian aircraft lost
Both are delusional

Even if numbers were correct pretty pitiful for “2nd greatest military “ and a year and a half later…..
Not a good look

200 billion in aid has flustered the Russian military, I say money well spent

The US inventory contains millions of rounds of DPICM (“cluster bomb) 155mm artillery rounds, and hundreds of thousands of GMLRS rockets for HIMARS, loaded with submunitions (“cluster bomb”)

Many nations, including the USA, now restrict the use of such munitions, which may leave behind unexploded duds, scattered in unmarked locations. (The USA restricts use, but does not ban them). Obama was planning to have them all destroyed, but Trump reversed that decision, and kept them in inventory.

The decision has recently been made (a month of two ago), to provide them to the Ukraine. They are now firing them, in addition to the other Artillery stocks they receive from the more than 50 donor nations that participate in the Ramstein Conference.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces have been provided counter-battery radar systems, like Firefinder, that allow them to fire an Artillery round at the launch point of an enemy round, before the first enemy round even makes it to its impact point. The Western guns also have a longer range, specifically so designed for the counter- battery Artillery duel. Russian Artillery has been especially targeted during this counteroffensive - Russian losses have accelerated sharply.

Russian Major General Ivan Popov was recently relieved of his command in Zaporizhzhia, for raising the issue of the need to address the surging losses of Russian Artillery.

In addition to losing guns and crews, Artillery ammunition supply has been greatly disrupted by concerted Ukrainian strikes on Russian ammunition supply points, and key transportation links, like bridges and railroads.

The Artillery balance has shifted dramatically since the beginning of the war, when sometimes Russia would fire 10-20 times the net explosive weight that the Ukrainian side did. Ukrainian forces can now create localized Artillery superiority to support their operations.

“Guess which country now operates more tanks in the Ukraine?”

It is the Ukraine!

Another big change since this recent invasion began last year.

There have been many seismic changes in the correlation of forces between Russia and NATO since then.

Russia’s front line ground combat units (Spetznaz, VDV (Airborne), Guards and Naval Infantry) as a whole, have exceeded 50% personnel casualties (the typical threshold for classifying a unit as non-combat capable). To the degree that these units have been reconstituted, it has been almost entirely with recently mobilized men off the street, who received their initial military training years ago, but never served beyond that. Equipment losses, and replacement with lower priority equipment has been roughly on par with personnel losses. Over 90% of Russia’s ground combat units have already been committed into the Ukraine. (The USA never committed more the 25% of its ground combat force structure to Vietnam during that war).

NATO’s front line ground combat units on the other hand, have not experienced a single loss, have generally received increased training and acquisition budgets and have in some cases (Poland and the Baltics) begun significant expansion programs, to stand up permanent new units. The accession of Finland into NATO brought with it the largest Artillery force in Europe - more than 700 guns in active units.

Ukraine’s ground combat unit’s have more than tripled in size since last year’s invasion. Most of that is lightly armed Light Infantry - newly mobilized members of Territorial Defense Forces. But the counterattack Corps formed, trained and equipped for this counteroffensive was a significant entirely new heavy armor and mechanized formation, that did not exist before. Another such new Corps is in the NATO train and equip pipeline, to hit the ground toward the end of the year (likely augmented with squadrons of F-16s).

As Russia rapidly (in an historic sense) burns through its inheritance of military equipment from the Soviet Union, one system after another will reach thresholds where Russia can no longer keep the same number operating in Ukraine. The rough rule of thumb is that they are losing about ten for every one they can produce new, and drawing down inventory to maintain their operational tempo. That is pretty much the case for all their main combat platforms - tanks, IFVs, APCs, Artillery, Attack Helicopters.

That drawdown of the old Soviet Arsenal is a central Strategic development of this war, that is changing the global balance of power, and is likely a center of gravity for this war. It is a central theme of what we have been tracking on this (Speedy’s) thread. Tanks are the iconic representative of Soviet military power, and have had top billing as an indicator, but the same process is going on across the board. When Russia has punched out its old stockpile, it will likely no be able to restore similar capability for a generation.

“Artillery shell manufacturing factory near Moscow”

Those things do tend to blow up occasionally - just one little static electric spark, or demolition charge…
