Field Wives...
“1/ Russian volunteer soldiers from Bashkortostan have complained about their mistreatment and their commanders’ corruption, whom they say steal humanitarian aid and abuse female soldiers as ‘field wives’.
2/ The men, who are from the Dostavalov battalion – one of several volunteer battalions raised in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan – have recorded a video appeal to the republic’s head, Radiy Khabirov.
3/ They complain about the behaviour of their commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Barinov, and say they don’t want to serve under him as he “behaves inadequately towards his servicemen.”
4/ In particular, they say, “he abuses humanitarian aid. He disposes of it as if it were his own property, although the humanitarian aid was collected by all residents of our republic.”
They complain that “he behaves immorally with his driver at the brigade headquarters.”
5/ “[They] got military field wives. And they don’t hide it. Instead of raising the fighting spirit of volunteers, they behave immorally with women from the company and local women are systematically in an alcoholic state.”
6/ The men say they are now in Tomsk in Russia’s Orenburg region, after their volunteer contracts expired. They say they are willing to continue to serve, but want to be transferred to the Vatan detachment rather than remaining under Barinov’s command.
7/ They say they are being “subjected to fabricated cases.” The ‘Caution, news’ Telegram channel reports that the men have told it that their commanders “declare [people to be] deserters, ...
8/ ...fabricate cases against objectionable fighters [claiming] that they allegedly organized assassination attempts, [create] cases of “insulting the commander’s feelings.”
9/ Reports of humanitarian aid (assistance parcels from families and voluntary organisations) being stolen have been fairly widespread. The video helps to corroborate other reports that female soldiers are being sexually exploited as ‘field wives’. /end”

RuZZian Girls
“1/ Female Russian soldiers are reportedly being subjected to sexual abuse and violence by male soldiers, and being pressured into becoming the “field wives” of officers, according to an account published by Radio Free Europe (RFE).”

“5/ Field wives are an old tradition in the Russian (and previously Soviet) armed forces. During World War 2, female soldiers were often coerced into sexual relationships, or were simply raped. Some established relationships with senior officers to protect themselves from rape.”
7/ The ‘field wife’ tradition was revived during the Soviet war in Afghanistan (1979-1989), but with far fewer women in the Red Army then than during WW2, competition between officers for women was fierce and sometimes violent. In some cases, officers fought duels over women.”

“China Deflation Threat Grows as Companies Cut Prices to Survive”
“When China abandoned pandemic restrictions after three years of stringent controls, Nie Xingquan was expecting booming sales for his hand-made leather shoes. Instead, demand has been so poor that he’s had to cut prices 3% from a year ago and reduce his profits.
It’s an ominous sign of the deflationary pressure that’s hitting Chinese businesses as the economy weakens, and threatening to undermine Beijing’s stimulus plans if consumers opt to defer spending.”
The occupier put the nozzle of a grenade launcher to his shoulder as if it were a butt. It is not clear from the video exactly what kind of injury he received, but he looks serious.

Boy, that's gotta be embarrassing for Russia; getting clobbered so badly by such a weakling as the Ukraine.
Only 1000 left out of 3840. Only 1/4 remaining.
“@MoscowTimes counted Russian armored vehicles stored in Vagzhanovo, Buryatia that were visible on Google Earth images and concluded that out of 3840 that were there before the war 1570 have disappeared from there, and around half of the rest appear non-repairable.
So, around 1000 more usable/fixable vehicles are likely still at that base.”

‘staggering equipment losses’...
“Russia Pulls Thousands of Soviet-Era Military Vehicles From Major Storage Facility”
“Russia’s largest known military equipment storage facility has been stripped of nearly half of the Soviet-era tanks and armored vehicles that were stored on its grounds before Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, The Moscow Times’ Russian service reported, analyzing satellite imagery of the storage site.
The Vagzhanovo military equipment depot — located outside the republic of Buryatia’s capital of Ulan-Ude in eastern Siberia — is just one of nearly two dozen such sites identified by The Moscow Times’ Russian service using open-source data and it covers an area of over 10 square kilometers.
Satellite imagery dated five months before Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine shows that around 3,840 Soviet-era tanks and armored vehicles were stored outside Vagzhanovo, according to the outlet.
But over a year later in November 2022, around 2,600 of the military vehicles remained at the site — a decrease of just over 40% of the total amount observed before the war.
While military storage facilities can house equipment in buildings with ventilation and heating systems, inside unheated hangars, or under awnings outside, most of the armored equipment observed at Vagzhanovo was stored outdoors, The Moscow Times’ Russian service noted.
Vagzhanovo however does have 10 hangars, which, according to the outlet, can accommodate up to 400 armored vehicles.
At the same time, around half of the tanks at the facility were missing turrets, suggesting that those which have been removed over the past year may have been sent to be refurbished with new parts and equipment, as Moscow has increasingly resorted to sending aging tanks to the battlefield to compensate for its staggering equipment losses.”
Gee, I guess the Ukraine getting over $200 billion in military aid from the U.S. and NATO as well as the use of their satellite reconnaissance systems and analysts hasn't had any effect propping up the Ukraine. /sarc

“Key paragraph: When Americans learn the US has spent just 3% of the defense budget in support of Ukraine, people are more likely to say US aid is worth the cost:”
