If you defund one third of the public schools to fund one quarter of the police to bring students to the remaining schools, what level of occupancy do you get in public housing?

Nearly empty school buildings eat resources that should go towards students’ educations.

No. Combine students from under utilized schools into fully utilized schools. Shutter the remaining unused schools. Layoff teachers, administrators and support staffs. Give the savings back to taxpayers.

Sad. We knew the solution many years ago: school vouchers to parents who then chose the good schools for their children.

If a train left Chicago heading east to New York at 100 kpm and train left New York at the same time, on the same track, traveling at 100 mph where would the head on crash occur?

A similar problem existed in Kansas City MO school, which were operating under a court order.

The district could not close any school without the approval of a judge.

Anyone who could just removed their kids from the schools, until after a decade the district has lost about half of the student population.

When the cuts finally came and schools were closed, about 1/2 of all schools simply closed.

Which made it very difficult for parents to manage the travel situation. District buses weren’t safe ...
