This poll seems to align with the previous forecast predictions. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has spent a great deal of time in South Carolina over the past two weeks. The result, he’s dropped from second to third place. The more voters get to see DeSantis, the lower his in-state polling becomes.
DISCLAIMER – South Carolina is an open primary, vulnerable to Big Club shenanigans.
President Trump has a clear lead in the Palmetto state at 48% according to the latest Fox (Shaw Research) poll [DATA HERE]. Nikki Haley has entered first loser position at 14%, followed closely by Ron DeSantis at 13% and Tim Scott at 10%.
Candidate I Don’t Know (4%) is now ahead of Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie and Asa Hutchinson. While Gas Station Sushi is polling ahead of Doug Burgum, Larry Elder, Will Hurd and Francis Suarez

At 48%, President Donald Trump is 16 points higher in the polls than he was when he won the South Carolina primary in 2016.
NATIONAL OUTLOOK – The latest Harvard Harris national poll [DATA HERE] shows Donald Trump beating Joe Biden 45% to 39%, which includes President Trump holding a massive 18-point advantage with independent voters 45% to 27%.
Meanwhile the New York Times is reporting the controversial anti-Trump attack ad portraying Ron DeSantis as the slayer of the alphabet people was actually created by the campaign, likely inspired by the direction of Ms. Christina Pushaw who has been conspicuously quiet since the rebranding huggy phase began.
[…] One recent move that drew intense blowback, including from Republicans, was the campaign’s sharing of a bizarre video on Twitter that attacked Mr. Trump as too friendly to L.G.B.T.Q. people and showed Mr. DeSantis with lasers coming out of his eyes. The video drew a range of denunciations, with some calling it homophobic and others homoerotic before it was deleted.
But it turns out to be more of a self-inflicted wound than was previously known: A DeSantis campaign aide had originally produced the video internally, passing it off to an outside supporter to post it first and making it appear as if it was generated independently, according to a person with knowledge of the incident. The DeSantis campaign declined to comment on specific questions about its spending, the candidate’s travel and the video. (link)
The DeSantis campaign has turned to the Utah Mormon community looking for financial assistance.
Politico – Top officials on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s campaign acknowledged to donors on Sunday that they’d spent too much money and that further changes would be made as they look to recover from a disappointing start, according to three people who were present for the discussion.
Appearing before around 70 of the campaign’s top contributors at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah, DeSantis’ campaign manager Generra Peck said money had been spent on operations that had turned out to be ineffective and that the campaign would move to a leaner, “insurgent” posture going forward. Among the changes being made were to “expose” voters to DeSantis more, said Nick Iarossi, a Florida-based lobbyist and fundraiser who was at the event. (read more)

Yeah, disagree with your narrative.
Best
Have a great day and week!!!!!
I know some folks just don’t want hear reality, but here it is anyhow...
As of Jan 7, 2020, Donald J. Trump was the Republican nominee for 2024, as long as he decided to run.
Had he not decided to run, then we would be having an entirely different discussion, but he has, and as such he will be the nominee.
All the rest of the circular firing squad of candidates, are left desperate for attention, and cash, and relevance, and just like in 2016, they have to rely on the establishment donors and money men, who have been selling out the US for decades to exist... and as such they are all, just like 2016, simply shills of the machine.
The folks who just don’t like Trump, will bounce from candidate to candidate hoping to that someone, anyone will offer them something and have a prayer, and this group will continue to shrink as the primary voting goes on.
Reality is simple this, Trump will almost certainly sweep the primaries from the start, and while the media will continue to try to push the narrative that this is a race, by the end of March 5th, even the most brain dead will know (even if they won’t admit it) that Trump is the nominee.
The establishment GOP and media will try to keep pushing that this is a contest but it won’t be.
The race to watch, that has potential to be interesting is the D side, their candidate is a joke, and RFK is a real threat, if he can bust out, the amount of fraud and corruption that will be unleashed to stop him will make what has been done to Trump look like nothing.
And Desantis had to have Trump carry him across the finish line when he ran against a corrupt drug addict....
Funny how Desantis’ folks always leave that part out.
Desantis is a good administrator, and a sharp guy, but he’s a LOUSY retail politician. He has destroyed any chance for national elected office, by being utterly tone deaf... he’s exposed himself as a shill for the establishment.... and took himself from an almost certain front runner in 2028 to no chance for national elected office.
Desantis is basically learning the lessons a few other young men did in 2016, Rubio and Cruz... who’s ambition outstripped their abilities and caused major long term damage to both their brands.
And you as well!
A little early for that now. But i’m sure they have their
plans in order for disclosure when time is appropriate.
DeSantis won by 20 points. Trump lost his election. Trump is poison electorally. He only in 2016 barely by the most hated woman is america.
It's quite reasonable that Haley would come in second in South Carolina because she's a Favorite Daughter.
HOWEVER, question 3 of the Topline asks who the first and second choices are and Haley beats DeSantis here in the first choice. But when you look at the combined first and second choice, DeSantis beats Haley by 3%.
When you take out the state-specific Favorite Daughter effect, DeSantis beats Haley.
When you break it down by the issues, we see this:
Mike Pence is the clear disfavored candidate in South Carolina.

Desantis won by about 33k votes against a corrupt drug addict, and only because Trump swooped in at the last minute at dragged him over the finish line.
When Desantis as the sitting governor of Florida loses the Primary in Florida Handily to Trump, and is utterly humiliated, what will you say then?
Trying to equate a victory in 1 state to a national election is comical... Trump won Florida twice as well, but lets not point that out either.
Desantis is going to be absolutely humiliated when as the sitting governor of a state can’t even win it during a primary contest.
Hell, even Kasich as a FORMER sitting governor was able to win Ohio in 2016...
He won by 20 points. Why are you lying?
No he did NOT win 2018 by 20 points, he won by about 30k votes, and was on target to lose until TRUMP came in and carried him over the finish line....
Get informed.
You are clueless to forget we’ve had elections since? And without trump’s involvement, DeSantis did better next election. DeSantis did better in 2018 than trump did in 2016 and 2020. Lol.
Trump has been the most conservative candidate since Reagan.
You Trump-or-Die types have gone completely off the deep end.
Trump lost in 2020. He’ll lose again in 2024. He’s a loser.
Clueless? You want to live in a vacuum.
You continue to try to compare apples to oranges, you are like the climate scientists who want to cherry pick data, and ignore all the other data.
Desantis has ZERO shot at a national election win, he is going to be absolutely humiliated with this poor decision to run this cycle... He won’t even win the PRIMARY in the state he is the sitting governor of, yet you want to claim his 2022 victory is proof he can win nation wide.
If Desantis is such a winner, and Trump is such a loser, please, tell everyone watching WHY THE HELL HE IS LOSING TO TRUMP by over 30 points??
He is literally going to lose the Primary in the state his is the sitting governor of next spring, but you want to argue he’ll do better than Trump nationally?
Doesn’t add up.
IF Desantis is great in Florida, and Trump beats Desantis in Florida (which he is going to handily do), that means Trump > Desantis in Florida.
Desantis won as an incumbent against CRIST for heaven’s sake... a man NO ONE wanted, a former governor, who left the Republicans to become a Democrat, he was the candidate because literally no one else was even willing to run... With Crist as the adversary anyone would have won Florida by a large margin... CONTEXT MATTERS.
You can keep deluding yourself all you like, but Desantis is a DUD as a national candidate... We’ve been through how many rounds of “just you wait, Desantis will break out” already? 3 or 4??
Oh, wait until he formally announces.... Nothing..
Oh, wait until Trump gets indicted... Nothing...
Oh, wait until Desantis relaunches his campaign... Nothing...
Give it up.. the man does not have it... He has absolutely no presence, is a terrible retail politician, and will likely be down in single digits by the time voters start casting votes next spring.
You are welcome to keep playing selective data points to prove the earth is warming and we’re all going to die, but the reality is, Desantis is done.... He peaked back in February when he was an IDEA, pushed largely by the MSM as a Trumpslayer... then the electorate actually got to see him and for the most part the more they see of him, the lower he polls, because they IDEA pushed of what he is, and what he actually is, don’t jive.
Come March 19, 2024, we’ll see just how great Desantis is as a candidate, when he loses the Florida Primary by almost certainly multiple double digits to Donald Trump.
Neither one has a chance. Hopefully someone will come out of this mess. Trump has 20 percent of the total electorate guaranteed. He needs the rest of the republicans and over half the independents for a chance. I don’t he can keep his mouth shut long enough to add voters.
THIS!!!!
Hate to break this to you, but Trump is currently leading Biden by around 18 points among independents among likely voters...
The NeverTrump/Uniparty/GLobalist/Establishment GOP wing can wring their hands all they like, but its not going to change anything.
Those dumb republicans who voted for Biden last time because they hate Trump have largely learned their lessons... they won’t make that mistake again... They may not like it, but most will never vote for Biden again.
“Trump lost in 2020. He’ll lose again in 2024. He’s a loser.”
If you actually believe that the Sniffer got over 81 million votes, more than even Obama, without ever campaigning, then your are a grand loser when it comes to rationality.
Now Trump ran on his record and got more votes than any other incumbent president in our history.
Yes, the election was stolen.
The true story in this particular article is why Scott and Haley are getting clobbered so badly in their home state. The fact that DeSantis is competitive with them in SC is a plus for him. On a larger scale, I expect DeSantis’ organizational effort will enable him to pull off a win in Iowa, followed by New Hampshire, where the popular current governor despises Trump. This will rattle Trump to the point of desperation. After that is anyone’s guess.
I don’t believe that crap. After being told we’d win 30 house seats and 6 senate seats in 2022. I doubt any poll is accurate. Voters will vote who they want regardless of what polling choice is given
