Targeting those ‘Angry Patriots’

“Kvachkov was a former spetsnaz brigade commander and was an early proponent of creating a separate arm of the Russian military for special operations forces, which would later become KSSO.”

“Russia opened a criminal case against Colonel of GRU Vladimir Kvachkov, a close Girkin’s ally and a member of the “Angry Patriots Club”, accusing him of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.”

“Russian AA/artillery unit received 6 Tunguska air defence vehicles from MoD, likely from long conservation followed by major repairs - as a result, all six vehicles are disfunctional. In the full version of the video, the reporter states that upon reception, three vehicles were running but after a 30-km march all broke down with major suspension problems, another two suffer from armament control system malfunctions, and a sixth is too dangerous to even start. None of the six transport-reloading vehicles (TZM) were functional either.”

General SVR

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a difficult day yesterday.

First, during a meeting with representatives of the leadership of the military bloc, which was held via video link, the president was “led by the nose” by the military.

So, Putin was informed that on the night of Monday to Tuesday, a massive high-precision missile strike “retaliation for the Crimean bridge” destroyed the warehouses of the enemy’s weapons and ammunition supplied by the West in the Nikolaev and Odessa regions.

Further, representatives of the military leadership spoke about the incredible successes and advances of Russian troops in the Kupyansk direction, with the prospect of liberating the territories “lost” during the “Kharkov maneuver”.

The President was convinced “with a blue eye” that the “liberation” (capture) of hundreds of thousands of square kilometers of territory was almost a fait accompli.

This news pleasantly surprised and encouraged Putin, but not for long.

Twenty minutes after the end of the meeting with representatives of the leadership of the military bloc, the president got acquainted with the report through the Security Council of the Russian Federation, during which the head of state was informed that without exception, all the information from the military at the last meeting was a lie.

The “retribution” strike did not achieve its goals, and the advances of the Russian troops in the Kupyansk direction are so insignificant that it is at least stupid to present this as a strategic success.

After reading this report, Putin’s mood deteriorated markedly, and he demanded that “acts of retaliation” be carried out with real, not imaginary results.

By late afternoon, the president was a little encouraged by the information that the situation with the rebellious part of the Wagner PMC group had calmed down a bit and part of the PMC would be relocated to the territory of the Republic of Belarus, and Yevgeny Prigozhin himself had almost completely dropped out of the information agenda.

But not even an hour had passed before the president was informed that he had been “flyed in” from the other side of the ultra-patriotic flank.

The former “hero of the Russian spring” and now a militant blogger-turbopatriot Igor Ivanovich (Vsevolodovich) Strelkov-Girkin lashed out at the incumbent president with the most severe criticism and open insults.

Putin has long been told directly that the issue with Girkin should be resolved in the most radical way, and he himself gave orders several times to “bury the issue”, but all the president’s decisions were blocked, and Girkin continues in his spirit to set the patriotic public against the country’s leadership and against Putin personally.

Yesterday, the president once again, quite definitely spoke out, and gave another order to deal personally with Igor Strelkov-Girkin and his rebellious and violent entourage.

But there is a feeling that the president’s orders no longer have the weight they once had, and most of them will continue to be ignored. Putin loses his grip, and turns into a “lame duck” in the eyes of his entourage.
